wrong about needing that goal!!! WOWOW....INCREDIBLE....FINALLY. Amazing game by the defense tonite. Really amazing game...MAC was back on...Girardi was great. The forwards back checked as good as I have seen all year. I know I will get blasted for this but im still not giving their goalie all the props. We gave him so many easy shots and Im not sure if they were just rushing..but we should have had more. Their goalie was solid..very solid....but we should have had 3 or 4 tonight. And Jonnny....HAGS...hats off to him finding his nitch..his game. He was really good.
Saw bits and pieces of the first period. Missed the second period driving home. Third period was exciting. How come we can never score on the open net?
woooooohoooooooooooo Holy fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want the cup I want the cup I want the cup
That was heart pounding intensity...All those saves, but DAMN IT what a TEAM EFFORT & WIN tonight. Wow...Like some of you I wasn't involved in the 94' run...I was not even in this country after living in Asia for a years I came back to the States literally right after the Rangers won the Cup...It was end of June 1994. So this is the furthest I have seen this team make it...I am so proud of this team tonight...And again I know no one is going to give us a shot, but focus + fundamentals + discipline + Lundqvist give you a fucking great shot
Henrik Lundqvist @HLundqvist30 · 14m It took me 9 years, finally made it.. My first Stanley Cup final!! So proud of this group of guys! 4 to go.. #BecauseItsTheCup #NYR
McDonagh led all NYR in ice time at only 25:27. The incredible job Alain Vigneault has done managing this roster and keeping them fresh all season long can't be understated, and aside from Lundqvist, is the biggest reason this team is here right now.
Which one Stanley? Way to go Blueshirts!!!! As badly as I was hoping for them to score that 2nd goal and essentially put the game away in the last period (aggggh, that 3-on-1 with 6:40 to go!!) and as crazy as this might sound, I actually didn't feel half as crazed as I did during the 7th game of the Pittsburgh series given the way the Rangers just looked so much more aggressive, so much more in control, so much the better team…..not backing up and giving up a 'soft' blue line but instead playing the game on their terms resulting in dominant puck time of possession in both the neutral and offensive zones. Only time it got antsy was when the Habs pulled Toharski (nice series kid btw), but even then it seemed like Montreal wasn't going to get off a clean shot at Henrik. Only question now is, who do they want in the finals, the 2013 Stanlet Cup champ LA Kings or the defending champ Blackhawks? LA is playing great and Quick is Quick. Blackhawks have an overall talent advantage but the one 'chink' among those two teams might be Crawford in goal for Chicago. Quick's capable of standing on his head; Crawford I'm not so sure about. ….worry about that another day, soooo happy they put this series to bed and avoided a game 7 in Montreal. Congratulations New York Rangers! p.s. Brian Boyle: I take back all those Bill 'big whistle' Chadwick "handles the puck like a cow handles a gun" comments. Nice job with the face offs, good penalty killing and nifty little between-the-legs pass tonight.
As a Rangers fan, how can anyone NOT be proud of what they have accomplished.... Fukin amazing feeling right now. Man, I went nuts at work all by myself...lol U think I give a fuuuuu...? #proud
Proud is the word Royal, I'm 56 and this is only the 4th trip to the Stanley Cup Finals in my lifetime...gotta love the 4th line...AV deserves alot of credit for rolling 4 lines and 3 d pairs, keeping them fresh...last night was the easiest shutout Hank will ever have in his life....poetic justice Dom Moore scoring the winning goal, he was Mr Everything in this series, when Brass got hurt he played on the 3rd line, when Steps got hurt he played on the 1st line, he and Boyle won all the important faceoffs, a money player...LGR!
I was two years old when they last won the Cup. In an unparalleled spur of the moment move, I dropped 370 bucks to see last nights heart attack in person. Worth every goddamn penny. WE WANT THE CUP!!! LGR!!!!!
