big games define careers. I'd rather have a mediocre reg season QB that steps up in postseason than the other way around. I have never overrated Mark, I properly rate him while you guys underrated him b/c you don't understand what you are watching. Brady and manning are all time greats, if I have to win a big game I take Brady, if I want to win a fantasy title I take Manning. so we should praise Peyton for his playoff chokes b/c he is a student of the game? he's still an all time great, he's just not near the top like he would be if he could play better in big games.
You are terrible at assessing QBs. It's cringe worthy. I guess you disagree, but personally, I would rather have a good QB. Not a mediocre one who steps it up in the playoffs, because good QBs win SBs (like Manning and Brady) and good QBs get you there more often than not.
I try to help you but you don't have any idea what you are watching. we had a good QB who stepped it up in the playoffs. Manning and Brady are not good QBs, they are all time greats.
Yes, we did have a good QB who stepped it up in the playoffs. unfortunately Namath retired 37 years ago
If he were a better regular season QB, he would still be the starter. You can't just step it up in the post-season that's not how it works.
So now years in the league is your argument? How old was Brady and how many years in the league when he was failing in the playoffs? Your next argument is Vegas lines? How many of those playoff losses by Peyton were his teams favored to lose? Underdogs against the Jets, Patriots. The only difference between the situations one kicker made his field goal and the other missed his. Brady had a long TD drive but how many stalled drives and 3 and outs did the offense suffer? In the second SB Brady had his chances to put away the Giants and failed. HE kept the Giants in the game. Your argument is that if a great QB has weapons he should be able to win games. In the biggest game with Moss and Welker he choked!! Sorry
I am not arguing, just pointing out facts. if you think that is the only difference then we should stop talking b/c clearly you don't know what you are watching. If Wes Welker catches that ball in the 2nd Giant SB NE wins and the game is put away, he can't throw and catch. w/ Moss and Welker(still less than what manning has had in average seasons around him) he led them to an undefeated season and led an 80 yd TD drive in the final mins to give his D a 4 pt lead. The difference in winning the 1st 2 and losing the last 2 is that in the 1st 2 he got the last real possessions of each game, in the last 2 he relied on his Ds. show me a SB where Manning led his team to a late score or a late lead and his D blew it?
I'm debating you while using your own logic. Your logic is Peyton Manning had Harrison and Wayne so therefore he should've won more playoff games. Your logic is that if any good-great QB's have weapons they should automatically be able to win playoffs. There's no gray area or wiggle room. So by that logic Brady had Moss (arguably a top 5 all time receiver and neither Wayne or Harrison are as good as Moss) so therefore he choked in the Super Bowl!! Yes Peyton Manning's kicker missed his 46 yarder btw he was one of the most accurate kickers in league history. While Brady's kicker made his 47 yarder. So yes that's the only difference. Lol so Brady can't throw and catch well neither can Peyton and he doesn't play defense either nor does he do special teams. Manning never led his team to a late score in a SB. But he's had playoff games end that way.
peyton only made ONE SB w/ Harrison and wayne and did so while his D played great and he kept opponents in every game. Brady one time had somewhat comparable talent and went undefeated and gave his team a late lead in the SB. Peyton's kicker was the kicking version of peyton, great reg season, postseason choker. Manning had Vinatieri for the same amount of seasons as Brady, where are all the GW kicks? where are the 3 SBs? Manning's Ds have been as good or better most of his career than Brady's Ds. show me a drop where he could have put a game away? he's had 1 playoff game end where he led his O to a late score and the D gave up the GW score BUT he set up a 50+ yd FG, he needed ONE 1st down to ensure AV would kick w/ no time left and he allowed Mark sanchez to do what he couldn't do against Pitt 2005.
Your first point is irrelevant Brady had great talent in 07 and didn't win the Super Bowl. Brady allowed Eli to win the SB. Brady had great talent in '11 and '12 and lost to Flacco and Eli. My "argument" is that if you have great talent and can't win a SB especially when you're Brady. Then you choked! You're right having a great kicker guarantees a SB lol. 2001 Pats 6th ranked defense Colts 31st ranked defense 2002 Colts 7th ranked defense Pats 17th ranked defense 2003 Colts 20th ranked defense Pats 1st ranked defense 2004 Colts 19th ranked defense Pats 2nd ranked defense 2005 Colts 2nd ranked defense Pats 17th ranked defense 2006 Colts 23rd ranked defense Pats 2nd ranked defense 2007 Colts 1st ranked defense Pats 4th ranked defense 2009 Colts 8th ranked defense Pats 5th ranked defense 2010 Colts 23rd ranked defense Pats 8th ranked defense 2012 Broncos 4th ranked defense Pats 8th ranked defense 2013 Broncos 23rd ranked defense Pats 10th ranked defense Brady had a better defense 7 out of 10 seasons.
spare me your rankings and watch the games. it only matters how they play in postseason, the Giants had poorly ranked Ds in the reg season that played great and keyed 2 SB wins. The Indy/Den D's w/ Peyton allowed LESS points than the "great" Pats D's. The pats Ds blew 2 SB and tried to blow 2 others but luckily for NE Brady got the last real possessions of those other 2.
And Indy's "great" defenses folded and like I said Brady for the most part always had better defenses.
