A cold PBR is a great schwag garage beer...... I reccomend pairing it with mowing the yard on a hot summer afternoon, or the bloody ice in your fish cooler.
Kwame Brown contributed way more as a basketball player then Steven Hill as a football player. Slap in the face of Kwame Brown.
More like I ran out of pain meds yesterday and had to knuckle through it until my wife got off work to pick up my prescription. Thanks for understanding.
Is he still invisible? Among his many qualities : height, speed, lack of hands, etc., the quality he has used the most in his time with the Jets has been his uncanny ability to play entire football games and be invisible out there. Some would call it uselessness, I like to focus on the positives, I call it invisibility.
Hill is that mediocre guy at your job who makes more money then you for no reason at all.Hill looks the part looks like he has a tremendous upside but falls flat every week. This is without question his last chance,we should have cut him this year and I wish we would have. This team loves to keep scrubs on the roster for half a decade
This x1000. I don't understand why so many people are ready to give up on Hill only 2 years into his career. Give the kid a chance. NYers have to be the most impatient people on the planet.
He is on the roster because there is no reason to cut him. There is no cap savings and he had a good enough preseason last year to justify the roster spot. The minute both of those reasons are gone so is hill. But not sooner.
I'm pulling for him, I truly believe if he can produce he makes our offense scary. With Decker at the X, Hill at the Y, Amaro and Kerley eating up the middle it could be dangerous. I thought he was looking good last season till he got cracked in that Tenn game.
My guess is he's puffing his chest on the way into OTA's because he knows he's in trouble and he needs the attention on the way in. If he performs well he'll be fine but if not it's going to be a harum-scarum ride for him all the way to the last cuts in camp. The thing he has going for him is that John Idzik really likes big receivers. He thinks they cause matchup issues that many defenses cannot handle. So if Hill plays decently he's going to win a job.
Did you even read the article, Hill wasn't "boasting" anything. He basically just said he grew a bit and put on some weight. There was no, "I'm better then everyone now because I grew" it was just a statement he made that they wanted to blow out of proportion for people who eat it up drama....
If Hill give the Jets ANYTHING in 2014, it will be a huge victory for the Jets. They clearly are not depending or expecting him to do anything though. I hope he comes through. He always has said the right things since he was drafted, just has not shown up on Sundays.
Well Kwame Brown was the first overall pick in the draft so I don't now how logical this comparison is.
We traded up for Stephen Hill, Jets FO believed he would be a contributor from day 1. Draft position it's not logical but their expectations that's different.
Theres too many mediocre bodies at WR and not enough spots. I seriously doubt Hill makes it out of training camp this year. You have to think Decker, Kerley, Nelson are definetely above him, there's what 3 rookies? That's six right there. Maybe they cut one of the rookies but that's not even factoring in some of the litany of other young receivers that could outplay him at camp or play special teams, as hill doesn't. It doesn't look good for him, and if he can make THIS roster at WR, good luck catching on anywhere else! If he could just figure out how to catch the football and use that big body of his, he might be worth something. There's a need in the WCO for the big, reliable possession WR. But he hasn't shown the ability or even the potential to be that guy. Has he ever caught a slant? I stopped watching all 22s but does he even run them? I can count the "good" plays he's had in the last 2 years on one hand and they were mostly him running straight down the field. If he wants to be worth more than shit he needs to do more than that.
What was being discussed was the fact that he was measured at 6' 4" at the combine and made the claim that he was 6' 3" a few months ago and is now 6' 4". So why is he even claiming he grew or that he was shorter than he was at the combine? Do you care to address that our are you just going to continue to shower us with your fake outrage?
Lots of contradictions in your post, Saying that we're loaded with mediocre bodies seems to me would help Hill make the roster. If they're all mediocre you keep the cheapest one with the most upside. Can make a case that is Stephen Hill above the other on the fence players. There have been plenty of examples and articles posted of the improvements he's made as a route runner and the flashes he's shown of being a good WR. Without going back to re-link them all for you, Yes he did improve his route running, and has run slants succesfully. For whatever reason Geno and Hill never seemed to gel which forced a lot of missed connections but they were not all on Hill's route running. He also only dropped 1 ball all of last season which was a major area for improvement for him. People act like this guys at the end of his rope physically and mentally, He's 23 and as the article states is not even done growing into his body. Here's hoping bambi learned his muscles and turns into a stag this offseason.
