Someone has to sign him one of these days. Surprised the Pats or Panthers haven't signed him yet, he definitely has one more good run left in him if healthy.
LOL an anonymous source quote in a Mehta article. That totally proves it. You gotta come better than some anonymous quote that could be made up on the spot if you intend to claim that a team mate actually said that.
Not directly called a cancer in these but I think they tell enough of the story And a picture tells the story You say his character issues are greatly blown out of proportion and in the next sentence say he blew up emotionally in the Dolphins game because the offense was terrible that day. Blowing up emotionally is a character issue. You said he didn't have any other character issues after that, what about this Mini-meltdown LOL
It came out literally 1 day after that infamous Dolphins game. It would actually be hilarious if it did turn out to be Hunter. I could see him trying to save face with his career pretty much on the line, trying to divert the attention to Holmes blaming him for the meltdown instead of his extremely inconsistent play.
The picture tells nothing. The guy was upset, clearly. I didn't say that he never had character issues. I said they were blown out of proportion and that fans held it against him for the next 2 years. Every thing you mentioned aside from the OTA thing in 2012 was related to the same stuff. I already agreed that he shouldn't have called them out publicly, but he was 100% right in what he said. LOL at mini meltdown terminology used by Cimini. The guy was coming back from snapping his foot in half and felt he couldn't practice at that level yet. He was probably in pain and tossed his helmet. I love how media sensationalism makes up the bulk of your argument. No team mate has ever gone on record and called him a cancer. Celebrating a TD in the Eagles game in a still winnable game is not the end of the world. We know the line was upset that he called them out, but they deserved it because they were killing Sanchez. You have listed a grand total of TWO incidents. Most of those quotes were in reference to the same thing!
Barcs is literally the only person in America who still defends Holmes. Hes a complete cunt ( not Barcs) and a selfish piece of shit with MASSIVELY diminished skills and zero teas after him. Barcs loves him though
You wanted more than an anonymous source, I gave you more than an anonymous source. You say media sensationalism makes up the bulk of my argument even though I provided teammate quotes showing he was certainly not a highly regarded member of the team. Your posts consist entirely of your opinion. Almost positive he won't be back with the Jets which I am extremely happy about. You go ahead and keep making your push for him if that makes you happy, I have posted more than I thought I would about him, not worth the time. Should we put some time into discussing the guy who refills the Gatorade bottles for the team? He will have more impact on the Jets this year than Holmes.
The stats tell everything, he just wasn't that good. For a man who was once touted Super Bowl most valuable player he sure seemed to have a lot of quit in him. Not surprised he's not signed yet. Won't be surprised if he's not signed at all. Old, entitled and washed up.
I wanted more than anonymous sources for the "cancer" comment. That didn't happen. We KNOW the oline didn't like being called out and retorted. That led to all the actual quotes, but none called him a cancer, they just thought he went about it the wrong way and should have kept it in house. That's understandable and I generally agree, although one would think they would have kept their own comments "in house" as well, instead of publicly responding to Holmes (who was right). Anyways I've already gone through these same arguments numerous times, probably in this same thread. At this point it's a waste of time to go back and forth on it. He's most likely not coming back, but yeah his issues are definitely blown out of proportion. If not for the poor production after the injury it wouldn't be so black and white, IMO.
If a player is cut and signed somewhere they are completely out of the compensation pick process. Holmes isn't costing any team anything in the comp pick process at this point. If he had left the Jets under free agency then June 1st is an important date because that's the point at which comp picks no longer figure into the equation for free agents who were not cut by their teams.
Anonymous sources again. What are the odds a player would actually give a quote like that to a reporter?
there are no comp pick ramifications for signing players that were cut, only expired contracts. anyone can sign holmes and will have no effect on whether or not they get a comp pick and now i see this has been covered already
I already dealt with my kids going through the pre-teen and teen years and I am not going to deal with childish arguments from what is supposedly an adult. Are you still in college taking some pre law classes or something to that effect where they teach this is effective?
his catch in the corner of the endzone to knock the pats out of the POs is worthy of retiring his number!
The fact that not a single team has signed him yet tells you all you need to know about Holmes. NFL teams are generally willing to overlook A LOT of off the field problems if a guy can play well. Holmes just isn't that good anymore, he hasn't been for a few years. Add the whole locker room cancer angle to the situation and it's not surprising no one wants the guy.
Your favorite SAT Analogy time! Barc:Tone = nyjunc:Sanchez Drill that to your collective heads, people.
