What does that have to do with the mission/destiny last year being "win one for Duncan before it retires". Miami had a destiny too, win the NBA finals with the big 3. IND had a destiny too as PG ascends into superstardom. OKC had a destiny to rematch MIA too until Westbrook got hurt. Every team has a legitimate "mission/destiny" this year, not only the Spurs. If the Spurs win it's because they played good basketball.

Yeah and wasn't the mission/destiny to win one for Duncan? How much did that help last year? Every team left could have some made up reasoning to why they need to win the title, but end of the day these 4 times had a preseason goal of winning the NBA championship, that's the mission and the winner will be the team that plays the best basketball

Game 6 last year was bad...but Game 6 of the 1986 World Series was in its own class as a brutal loss (for Red Sox fans) inches from a title.

I don't doubt the Spurs are still a threat, will always be a threat as long as Popovich and Duncan are there...but this idea they're on a mission when they putzed around with a Dallas team that barely made the playoffs in the first round, I dunno. If any team looks like they're on a mission it's Miami to three-peat and join the ranks of the great all-time teams. Especially if the big three is not long for this world.

Good job guaranteeing multiple times that the Wizards and Nets would win this round.

No no no, thats not what I meant. What I meant was, it would be a real life interpretation of the Wizards beating the pacers, I never actually meant that the Wizards would actually beat the Pacers.

Wow. Adams and collison and some small ball from the thunder. Thunder can play small ball but this exposes their lack of depth and Durant might not be able to play PF all game, all series long.

Geez. Now who's going to hit Manu in the nuts while he's taking a shot?

    Fuck this shit.
    Seriously wtf?

Last year Russell, now this year Serge.
IDK what to say. SOT? We have no luck. Things are finally looking good, and like f'n always, something out of nowhere happens. Last night they made it sound like he would be fine.

Another year of the 2 lamest teams in the championship again...yayyyyyy.

I feel bad for Durant honestly, 2 full seasons the guy has now lost an opportunity at a championship. Im not going to compare it to Lebron in Cleveland, but its starting to become similar, except for Durant, his teammates are getting injured. (Lebron just never had the teammates to begin with). Thunder have absolutely no chance to win the entire thing now. The pressure on the Spurs now to reach the finals is through the roof.

    San Antonio Spurs.

    Coach Popovich

    Tim Duncan, Tony Parker.

They won many championships. They lost some finals as well. Never a peep from them. I got a ton of respect for that team. Normally I would be upset about hearing an injury news to any player but this time, I am happy that this will increase Spurs' chance of reaching to the Finals.

I want Spurs to win this year. For Duncan, for Parker, for Popovich. They deserve to get the revenge from the Heat. Go Spurs.

PS: soxxx, just a friendly request :) Can you maybe stop predicting stuff and allow this thread to be just about the games etc? Like I said, just a friendly request. :)

There is not much left I can predict so im pretty sure you are safe for now. We are going to Heat-Spurs which I believe will end with the Spurs winning in 6.

I will believe Serge Ibaka is out, maybe for the rest of the playoffs, when I see it.

    Skip Bayless ‏@RealSkipBayless 2m
For the record, Ibaka has done at least as much damage to the Spurs as Westbrook/Durant have. Intimidates TD and TP and shoots lights out.

    Skip Bayless ‏@RealSkipBayless 53s
Part of me hopes Ibaka CAN play because I don't want any excuses. I want the Spurs to beat OKC at its best

    Skip Bayless ‏@RealSkipBayless 1m
If the Spurs get past OKC, they WILL AVENGE LAST YEAR'S FINALS AND BEAT THE HEAT IN 6.

Hes trying to act humble but he's jumping up in down just as much as any other Spurs fan.
