Just saw this quote from Malkin in @JoshYohe_Trib story: “We tried. I had a couple of chances. Lundqvist just stopped every puck, you know?”

LOL look at Brassard. He goes to hug Pouliot but Pouliot jumps over the boards.

Congrats guys! I want to watch the ECF but I missed the last 3 Rangers games, so I am not sure what to do now.

Two days later...having come off the ledge: my apologies for that ^^^ pathetic "the world's coming to an end!" rant. I literally was standing the entire 3rd period...would pace back and forth, would walk out of the room durning moments I couldn't bare watching.....sometimes half convincing myself not to watch as if my insanity would give them bad luck.

Well played Rangers! And way to spit the bit Bruins! Regarding that Lucic guy who was chirping to several of the Canadians during the post-series handshake line: does anyone know what he was saying? 'Lucy" came across looking like a dirtbag in the mold of a Billy Smith.

Bruins always classy, Luc-dick cursing out Weisse and Emelin on the hand shake line...

Really happy we are not playing them. The most dangerous teams are the ones will skilled jerkoffs. You have skilled players..you have jerkoffs..and then you have skilled jerkoffs which the Bruins have many.

Hate the Saturday 1pm start too...I mean...what is the NHL thinking? Is there any stat that shows higher numbers for 1pm starts then night starts? Who cares if there is another series...start it Friday night.

And you have to wonder how much the NHL wanted the Penguins. If they had won game 5 like most thought would happen, they would have been off for 9 days....9 days. They are forcing games down the Rangers throats and if the Penguins win game 5 they would have been off for 9 friggin days.

yeah 1pm on Saturday sucks, but actually think it works in the Rangers favor a little in that crowds tend to be a little less nuts earlier in the day (as aopposed to hockey night in Canada). We got screwed by that in a few Philly games.

not sure what to make of this matchup, similar teams, stregnths etc. Price is a bit of a Ranger nightmare and is just as hot as Hank. think we're looking at a lot of 2-1 games. After how gassed the Bruins looked last night, maybe we were better off playing them.

can't complain though.......looking forward to Saturday and weighing whether or not to buy my first Ranger jersey since '94 (been only wearing that jersey for all Game 7's over the last 3 seasons.....al W's of course).

I don't understand. If the Penguins won Game 5, the ECF still would've started Saturday (it couldn't start any earlier than Friday because Boston/Montreal went 7). Game 5 was Friday. So Pitt would've had Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. 7 days.

At best, they could've made Game 1 Friday night, but I think they prefer to end the Western semis before starting the ECF.

The NBA is the same way. Day off between every game in both the NBA and NHL (the one exception in Rangers/Pittsburgh for whatever reason). So if a series ends early, a team can have a week+ off.

I counted Saturday twice..but still..why the rush? Why the rush in getting the Ranger games in with back to back days. To say they wanted games every other day is nonsense because they have games on CNBC when the first games are not finished. I mean CNBC...what the hell is the NHL doing to try to get their game out there.

So, now that its over we know that the Rangers did not need to play back to back days if they knew in advance that the start date was Saturday. It was totally uncalled for.

Again, Im not complaining about he days off we have now. My point is that there was this huge rush to get the Flyer series in and to start the Penguin series ASAP but now looking back, it didn't need to play out that way even if the Ranger series went 7 with the Penguins..because it did. There was no reason to have the Rangers play 6 games in 9 days or whatever it was because if the Pens had won in 5..they would have had a full week off. So the series goes 7..and so does the Habs series and the Rangers get 3 days off and the Canadiens get 2 days off.

My point is simply the schedule from the end of the Flyer series through the beginning of the Penguins series only screwed the Rangers..not the Penguins..but the Rangers. That was totally unfair. Each team should end up with at least around the same amount of days off.
