I thought BB was going to leave permanently after his weird 1950's porn thread got shut down, without his permission. He had a tissy fit and acted like he wasn't coming back... but he did.
Speaking of the devil. You may think that, but you've been a Jet fan longer then myself so I give you that respect to say such a statement
Oh easy answer for this. A homer is anyone who thinks the team/player is better than you thank they are (you being the person calling the other person a homer) A hater is anyone who thinks the team/player is worse than you think they are.
He wasn't on the field enough because of his lack of football ability. This was further evidenced by his short NFL career after he was off the Jets. It's a moot point if he was on the field enough or not.
Don't disagree about VG's ability. Just saying, it's kind of hard to hurt the team when you are not playing.
I don't agree with a lot of posts from Blocker but to make a thread and turn it into a personal attack gangfest is pretty weak.
a few years ago there was a whole forum dedicated to threads like these. they usually happen later in the summer, but these threads would help ease the tension that builds during the slow news period in between draft and training camp. the football threads seemed to stay a little more civil then too
This reminds me so much of political debate. It's just like the extreme right that vilifies anyone with an opposing view as a tree hugging liberal or the extreme leftists calling their opponents evil fascists. It's a childish tactic that is so obviously meant to avoid the argument at hand it's sad. Anytime someone makes a post and needs to back it up by calling the person they disagree with a "homer" or other term that is solely there as a cheap shot, whatever point they are trying to make gets immediately cancelled out by it. If people could just make their arguments and refrain from the urge to pigeonhole people with these useless and insulting tags there would be a lot less chance of good threads regressing into schoolyard shouting matches. I suppose some friction here and there can make for entertaining reading and it's a natural part of the forum, but if you choose to post in a style that's obviously insulting to people, don't get all indignant when people throw shots back at you. If you're gonna dish it out, be prepared to eat it too...
I think every true fan has some homer in them. You cant help it. I used to bash sanchez but let someone else do it. hell no. Not if they arent a jets fan. i'll defend him 1000% maybe even give him more credit than he deserved. I also get very homerish talking to gaytriots fans and im fine with that.
