I just found out about this guy and I love what I see. Although I believe we covered our slot with Kerley and jacoby Ford, I believe a talent like him is difficult to pass up on. If you haven't already please check out his highlights. to me he looks as explosive as Sammy Watkins

I am a Carolina alum, so I'm probably biased but I also have watched every single game of this kids career so take my opinion how you may:

I think he's going to be a good pro receiver. Maybe not pro bowl caliber, but maybe. I wouldn't say he's as explosive as Sammy Watkins but he's definitely got some speed. (His brother was pretty explosive for Arizona last year if its any consolation) The best part about him though is that he DOESNT DROP anything. He's always there for the clutch catch when needed.

He came to Carolina as a point guard on the basketball team until spurrier convinced him to play football (amazing high school quarterback /wild cat)l. Freshman year he didn't even play football, so he was a little bit behind. Combine that with him entering the draft as a junior and you have a kid who is still developing. There's a lot of potential there. I'm not a big wildcat fan but he can play that here if the jets want to continue that as well.

The knock on him is his size but honestly I think he's a good fit for the jets right now, they have their big reciever in decker. Ellington would be a nice compliment, or even just another nice reliable weapon.

Too small..Idzik seems to want only tall receivers and with good reason as the corners are all getting taller too.

I like him a lot. I looked at highlight packages over and over a few months back. What I like is the tracking ability on deep routes. He gets his head turned around and keeps his balance. He is very fluid. He is short, but built solidly. His hands seem very good. Of course, dropped passes are not going to show up on highlight films. He would be a Swiss army knife. The Jets would use him all over the place- Z, X, slot, wing, backfield.

    Closer to Cooks than Watkins.

We need a special teams guy and we really hit two birds with one stone by getting Ellington.

I agree Ellington will be a great ST player. McDougle is an outstanding ST player and kick returner.

He is definitely an upgrade to the reliable Kerley and that says a lot cause Kerley has been clutch for us. I would pull the trigger on him as we get our future kr/pr as well as an explosive wr to mix it up. He will have defensive coordinators up all night. I love his explosiveness. He shoots out like a cannon a la Sammy, and will make us feel better after missing out on landry

this could be a nice value for the Jets in the 4th..
like Cooks, it's possible we can move this guy around (not just slot) and play him on ST..

I hope Saunders becomes a little stud for us but I think we whiffed big time taking him ahead of Ellington.

I like Jalen, but SF was probably laughing when we passed on Bruce.

A slot guy is a slot guy at the end of the day. Jalen looks good, I know the scouts see more than me. Bruce was a polished and decorated wr though. Always drew the best DB last year. As some of you know, I am a clemson alum...Bruce was very hard to cover, not only in the slot, but outside as well! I would have liekd to see him in green over saunders.

The guy we took instead was a projected 6th - 7th rounder

Like I said, I like Saunders.

But honestly, you have to wonder whether the Jets do any research at all on the market for these guys before they make their picks. You need to know the market so you don't overpay for guys by taking them too early.

I am convinced we could have had both Ellington and Saunders if we had just taken Ellington first.

Maybe the jets didn't want Ellington?

As that one site wrote, the Jets FO truly don't understand value when it comes to the draft. I would say this holds true on the offensive side of the ball. The only guy in the building who has any fundamental understanding of NFL offense is MM. Yet in terms of talent evaluation and projecting guys from college to the pros I'm not sure they have anyone qualified in that building, offensively speaking.

Amaro was just sitting there in the 2nd so there's no great ability to snag him there. Ellington does everything Saunders does only he was better at it and he's 30 lbs stronger and thicker than Jalen. Just a strange reach of a pick by the Jets. But then again, SF has no clue how to draft. They're only coming off 3 straight NFCCG and Super Bowl appearance.

SF had the best draft I've seen in a longgg time. Say what you want about the rd 1 pick, but they killed it the rest of the way.

Clearly I was being sarcastic. SF killed the draft and so did St. Louis. Jets had a solid draft IMO. The only thing I wish they did was grab one of the higher rated WR's, that's the only real knock I have.
