Yup, I'm looking forward to seeing how she is depicted in the show. The last 5 episodes are going to be jam packed with things to happen.

Coldhands, for all his intrigue, has done nothing in the books except lead Bran for a couple chapters. He is easily removed unless GRRM is going to spend the last 2 books finally explaining who he is.

I think this season was going to include some stuff from book 4, since it is just the last half of 3, there must have been some room for it. Show is catching up!

I'm wondering how they will handle book 4 in the TV show in general...a lot of it takes place away from the characters that viewers know and love. For a book it's able to hold people's interest but will the TV crowd care about the Dorne and Iron Islands stuff? Maybe if they do a good job in making Oberyn a very well liked character his death will spur people on enough to care. Even Sansa's part, while intriguing for the long-term implications, would probably bore the TV audience. So, yeah, I'm interested to see how it plays out.

I have a feeling they are going to merge the storylines of books 4 and 5 and stretch it for at least three seasons, and that may kill the TV series renewals.

Man, they are changing so much of the story for this show. Am I the only reader that finds the show tedious? I'm watching it off sheer boredom of waiting for the next book, and it's becoming sometimes unrecognizable from the books.

Bran going to Craster's and being captured, Jorah not being expelled from Dany's camp and remaining a prominent advisor, Cersei advocating for the Tommen/Margaery marriage instead of fighting tooth and nail against it.

It's getting pretty obvious this season that they aren't going to follow the books aside from only the broadest plot devices.

I feel like I made a mistake by going ahead and finishing the books because the plot building is boring in the show compared to the books.

That said, IDT Jorah was cast out yet at this point...didn't that happen later on?

Jorah was cast out right after they conquered Mereen through the sewers. She sent Selmy and Jorah in that squad to punish them both for lying to her.

Yet another abandonment of major plot devices because

    A) Whitebeard had deceived her by not telling her he was Selmy

    and

    B) Jorah had betrayed her by being the Kings Landing informant

To my memory, neither of these things have have happened in the TV show.

Right after she conquers Mereen, she keeps Barristan and exiles Jorah.

Now you have to start wondering if Tyrion will ever get to Mereen at all in the show, because it's Jorah that takes him there, or mostly there.

It's actually starting to get confusing having read the books and watching the show, I guess I need to start paying closer attention. That whole joining the Nights Watch storyline with Locke I had no idea I was supposed to know who that was.

The Hound/Arya exchange about Syrio Forel was pretty weird too, I wonder if we can take that for confirmation that he is actually dead, there are a couple crazy theories about him still floating around out there.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't exist in the books (unless he was some minor character). He's a character being used to bring stupid plotlines. They replaced Vargo Hoat with this guy to chop off Jamie's hand. Fucking torrid crap.

Thats my point, I didn't even recognize him as the same guy that cut off Jamie's hand. Some of the changes I get but replacing characters like the Bloody Mummers that would at least be memorable with random dudes makes no sense to me.

I stopped watching the show, I thought season 3 was terrible. Maybe it was because I read the books, but I thought they did a terrible job building drama. I'm obviously in the minority with this opinion as everyone watches and loves the show.

Jon Snow betrays the Wildlings. Who cares, I didn't even know he liked them besides the chick? In fact, he disliked most of them. I don't even remember what else happened, I guess the Red Wedding, but again, even having read the books, you just don't know the characters enough to truly care (not talking about Robb/Cat, but everyone else). Who betrayed them again? Why is that important? If I hadn't read the books I would be beyond lost.

I know what you mean, one of the things I was really looking forward to was the way they portrayed the Bloody Mummers, so much for that.

I don't recall any of last nights episode happening in the book. Maybe my pages were all stuck together and I just skipped a few chapters.

Nah Yara/Asha wasn't in the book rescuing Theon. It's keeping kind of boring story lines alive like Bran being captured and almost seeing Jon Snow. This was supposed to set up showing how loyal Reek is then going to pretend to be Theon

I actually don't mind the show, it's interesting to see how they are setting up things for the future. They are flying through the books and going to pass through it soon. http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/hbo-game-of-thrones-book-characters/

I think they are setting up Jorah's dismissal. They reminded everyone that Jorah was spy in that council meeting.

I could see Cat being brought back next episode but I think it work best as a final scene. It would be a contrast for Lysa to fly with Littlefinger explaining he only loves Cat then cut to the Cat scene.

Also, I don't think Stannis ever went to Bravos right?

I wonder how they're going to sync up the various storylines at this point, you have a few that are in the beginning of book 5 as of last night and most of the others still in book 3

Dany too although there is certainly more room for filler with her storyline. I guess it's doable if they skip/gloss over most of the stuff in books 4 and 5 but that would mean they would get into wholly new stuff that isnt in the books as soon as next season. I haven't been the biggest fan of some of the changes but that Tywin/Jaime scene last night was really well done.
