I'm pulling for 3 specific players: 1- Stephen Hill - Went back and looked at his 2012 Jets highlights and GT highlights, the kid has some serious talent if he can put it all together. It's apparent he has lost confidence in NFL since college having watched the highlights. He needs to work on his foot placement after the catch, maybe he can break tackle and get more yac. He doesn't need to dive so much, could catch with his hands more enabling him to make a move. 2- Dex McDougle - First thing that stands out is that he is an outstanding kid, and you can tell how intelligent he is during his interviews. Scouts say he is a burner, I haven't noticed that watching his highlights, but he has excellent feet, good timing when the ball is in the air which means things are slowed for him. Could be a real gem and I applaud FO for seeing that. 3- Ras-I Dowling - Now this guy has playmaking ability, in part due to his height. He can go up and challenge, he is 200+ lbs making it harder for receivers to go through him on challenged balls. He has swagger which i think is very important as a cb, seems like things aren't as slowed down for him as McDougle, and i think he needs to work on his footwork taking smaller steps while shadowing receivers, helping reduce possible PI penalties, which may be an issue they see with him. After proofreading this 1 other thing stands out to me, and that is it seems to me that McDougle is more confident, prepared, advanced, whathaveyou (it factor), than Milliner even at this point, and probably has a good chance to start this season.
I am pulling for all of them - even Vick. That said, I really hope Geno can make significant strides (or even just continue to the same way he finished the season) - same goes for Milliner - if those two can play all season as they did the last few games then this could be a fun season given the other improvements we have made.
Amaro. Hoping that MM incorporates him into the gameplan right off the bat. He could be huge for this team and seems like a tough, confident player.
Antwan Barnes and coples. Hope they can really step up and bring constant pressure on the outside to help our young secondary
1. Dee Milliner - rough, unfair start to last season 2. Geno Smith - no qb could've won 8 games with a team like he had last year. Vick isn't the future and the only qb on our team that possibly is would be smith. Let's see how he does with weapons 3. Eric Decker - put the nonsense Manning made Decker noise to rest, also be the receiver we haven't had in a long time.
Offense: CJ - because if he isn't anywhere near what he was we could have a crazy running game Geno - because Vick isn't going to cut it Saunders - because I think he can be a very good player regardless of size. Runs really good routes, good hands, fast, and can return kicks Defense Pryor - because we took him 1st round and he can lay the wood on people Milliner - because he is the best cb on the team at this point
Pulling for: Sheldon Richardson - he was great against the run, but now I want him to take the next step, and become a dominant pass rusher too. He showed flashes of that last season, but not consistently, so that's something he needs to improve. If he can get to Wilkerson's level in that, our D-Line would truly be scary. Milliner - pulling for him to play the entire season like he did the last few games last year. Then he would become an elite CB in the league. Dexter McDougle - to me, he is the most interesting pick this year. Pryor and Amaro will probably do alright, at least become starters, later picks will probably mostly fizzle, but this guy, given his past situation, he could be anywhere from a bust to a steal. I am pulling for him because if he and Milliner both play well, we are set for the future.
No they can't, not even close but I am rooting for Smith to improve anyway. We also need to have a huge improvement in pass defense to have any chance so I am also rooting for Milliner and what ever bum they throw in next to him to improve as well.
I root for the laundry 99% of the time. I am pulling for everybody wearing the uniform. I can only think of a few exceptions (Favre and Tebow come to mind).
Everyone but specifically (not counting rookies): Antonio Allen Josh Bush Demario Davis Zach Sudfield Jacoby Ford _
Offense People forget that Geno barely had a WR or TE for 4 to 6 games in a row and as a rookie how in the hell can you expect him to develop any chemistry like that so I'm hoping he vastly improves this year with a healthy and much better supporting cast. He might be gone with all them legal troubles but Goodson if he gets back on track... last year he showed flashes together with Ivory and Powell... adding CJ2K whoaaaaa kinda scary to even think about ! Hopefully one of our backup lineman impresses us and turns into our next Howard. Defense Would love to see Coples pull through and get double digit sacks. Barnes played well until he got hurt... excited to see what he can bring to the table with a full year injury free. Milliner showed flashes late. with a full training camp this year I really hope he has a strong start right out the gate.
Yes they can. If they can become good players we are locked in with 3 good young cheap players in 3 important levels of the offense. I am not predicting whether tbey do or not, just who I am pulling for
1. hill - he has to be better for the offense sake.. if he's a decent 2 he will make decker better. 2. geno - no need for a write uo 3. milliner - he has to be our top corner 4. coples - i think he's fine now. unike a lot of people on here who hate him.. i just want a couple for sacks from him 5. brian winter - needs to be better and our oline is in good shape
