Jets could have traded down...somewhere during draft to accumulate more picks for this year & next year. Idzik is still a work-in -progress. Jets definitely added depth & competition.
You're entitled to believe whatever you want. Problem is you think you have a valid critism against someone who has formulated a different opinion based on having much more information of and experience with that player than you. You have to be extremely self centered or ignorant to believe your ignorance has more weight than their knowledge and experience. Maybe they will be proven wrong, but it wouldn't change the fact that you're right simply because of coincidence not actual knowledge that backs up your position.
We Brooklyn boys have Chutzpah don't we?? I admire your courage in elevating Geno, a humble WV quarterback over Johnny football. I think their is more to the Boyd acquisition than meets the eye, and Geno will have a tougher time keeping QB if he starts. If Boyd gets to show how he bulldozes defenders down, throws long and short passes we may have a real alternative. At this point, as Al Davis said I hope we just win baby!
Some people will never be happy. If we trade up we are wasting picks, if we draft more players they are automatically busts that won't make the team and people whine about not trading up. LOL at this stupid fucking thread. Why even join the site if all you're going to do is bash the team no matter what decisions they make.
exactly how far up in the first and second rounds do you think we move get for a 6th or 7th round pick (and bear in mind you cannot trade compensation picks)? a quarter of a spot?
After learning more about our picks and watching them in action, I feel better about our draft class. But our GM definitely seems to lack creativity and guts, and I question his ability to think in his feet. (His "deliberate" approach and "hard line" negotiating style aren't exactly conducive to draft day wheeling and dealing.) I think we could have done more to maximize our gains from this draft. Specifically, when Jets were on the clock @18, For Johnny lovers: 1) trade Geno to Houston or the Raiders for their 2nd rounder 2) take Johnny football 3) name Vick the starter heading into camp 4) take Seferian-Jenkins or Lee with the pick you got from the trade OR For Johnny haters: Instead of step #1 draft Johnny for another team in exchange for multiple picks, essentially trading back for a package of picks this year and next year. In other words do what the Chargers did when they took Eli and then fleeced the Giants in terms of compensation.
what makes you think anyone would have given up a second round pick for Geno in this draft or that anyone would have given much for JF given that many teams, including the one that took him (with their first pick), passed?
Manziel is very immature. He is caught up in media hype, and I want nothing to do with him. He has intriguing playmaking ability, but he is almost as overhyped as Tebow. He obviously has better passing talent than Tebow, but his talents are still very much overrated because of his personality. I hope he works out just for the sake of Browns fans, but Pryor is a significantly better addition to our team than Manziel would be.
No team would trade a high second round pick for Geno Smith, and your perception of what happened with the NY/SD trade for the QB's is pretty far off. Drafting a player in the 1st round with the intention of trading him is the stupidest thing I've ever heard.
Like you said there's a good chance he'll bust. So what if Manziel is immature. You can say that Geno is immature too. And if you disagree with that statement then that would be a worse opinion to have of Geno. Normally I would agree with you about Pryor. But with our current qb situation, it's extremely likely that we do not have our franchise qb.
I think Geno is smarter and more mature than Manziel. Have you ever listened to Johnny do an interview?
I don't gamble but what would you wager and how would you make a determination on who's better? I'm just curious.
I don't know, the loser has to change their name to Brady'sBJBoy or something? I mean it should be fairly obvious who's better but if it's really that close there should be a panel of voters who are determined beforehand lol.
The moves made to "fix" the salary cap were laid out by nearly every Jets beat writer and fan w/ beginner knowledge of the salary cap. Whose to say Tanny did not set it up so that he could do those same moves if the shit hit the fan. And when did we become a deep team, I must have missed it?
So we add 12 free players and its a problem remember the days of 3 and 4 picks in back to back drafts I hate people who complain about nothing, the kids haven't even stepped on the field
That sounds fun. How about, loser has to have a tranny photo for his avatar for the month of March 2015?
