Ok you got 2. Quick, name 2 more players from Temple. I knew you couldn't cause they probably don't play for the Jets
Heard of both the 4th round WR's..heard of Boyd obv. Never heard of the IK dude or the DE we selected in the 7th. And yeah there are reasons for that..i.e their highlights arent shown as often as SEC teams and other big conference teams. Ive heard of plenty of guys that were drafted late. And havent heard of plenty of guys that were drafted early. As much as the first 2 days are a crap shoot then last day is 100x's as much of one.
My point also being you didn't have a clue about any of those picks, I didn't and I watch College Football regularly including all the pre-game shows.
I was going through youtube to check out the highlights for some of these guys. I know it might not mean much, but it seems like most of these guys taken in the latter half of the draft were captains on their respective teams.
I'll bet you don't work in collegiate or pro sports at any capacity, much less football for that matter, so to come across as if you don't have any reservations about who we drafted, you are only fooling yourself. Quite frankly, despite my replies, I could care less what you think, cause it's quite insignificant to the fact that i've seem enough on this message board alone to conclude that many Jets fans have reservation regarding our selections.
We would have had to use our 2nd round pick to get Garappolo, what are you complaining about? would you rather have him than Jace?
NyJet4Life... although I applaud your passion for our beloved Jets. I think your vitriol is a little too much. The current SB champs are filled with guys that were either UDFAs or picked later in the draft. Big name school or not, the bottom line with each of these guys is they are high character players who come to play. Of all of our 12 picks only 3 or 4 are from smaller schools. All though you've made it clear in your opening diatribe that you don't want to hear this, you have to give time for these things to pan out. Our first 3 picks despite what some pundits say were SOLID picks. The rest are brought in for competition. We still have UDFAs to account for. Before you lose it. Just wait and see what happens.
I'll bet you don't, either. So what's more ridiculous? Having no reservations about players I know very little about, or having REALLY STRONG OPINIONS about players I know very little about?
The bottom line is that every single team drafts players that most fans haven't heard of. I'm sure we aren't even close to the only board with guys freaking out because the 5th or 6th round pick isn't who they wanted. We could be New England, drafting a guy with 2 ACL injuries in the first round, or Miami reaching for OL help in the first.
Michael Campbell and Jaiquawn Jarrett are also from Temple...but wait they play for the Jets...dogonit!
A prospect is only as good as the number of highlight videos they have on YouTube. I think we averaged 1.68 YouTube videos/draft pick. Idzik, you dun goofed.
