Whoever these no-names are, THEY BETTER PRODUCE!! It seems like Idzik is going far and beyond to NOT draft big name, big college players. Look at the facts, the big name colleges spend tons of money in recruiting players with immense talent. The fact that most of our picks went to lesser schools is because of their talent level. Not to say what they may become but some of the jury is already out on these kids. I don't know wtf FO is doing but I know Rex will be the odd man out if these picks don't materialize into more than just fringe NFL players. Yea some of you with the blah blah blah load up, blah blah blah fight it out during TC, blah blah blah give em time to develop, for the most part YOU GET WHAT YOU DRAFT. It's suffice to say i'm not overly optimistic about these picks, nor am I giving up on them, but I'm extremely disappointed with this year's draft at this moment in time. To the point where I'm very suspicious about our scouting dept, whether or not Idzik really does like Rex, whether or not we are tanking this year, etc... Yes, I'm more than suspicious at the very least. P.S.-- In 2015 I want P.J. Williams.
Yeah, you're absolutely right. If these late 6th rounders don't put up huge numbers we are obviously tanking the season and thus making an excuse to fire Rex.
Every pick that made me say who the hell is this has really looked good after watching them. The OLB and WR we got in the 6th are solid.
Div I-AA and Div 2 dudes Yet he passes on a high profile one (Desir) at our position of greatest need. He passes on Jimmy Garoppolo too. Whatever, man....
Take a look at the profile of who they drafted: - hard hitters - guys who play tough - guys with a good motor - guys with good character/good teammates Not all of them will work out. But I like that profile. I'd rather take a chance on a raw guy who plays the game hard, than a talent guy who plays soft and is lazy upstairs.
Like the two 6th rounders who went to Clemson and Nebraska? Or the 5th rounder that went to Iowa State? Or the other guys who went to Maryland, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and Louisville?
This isnt the 1960's anymore..kids with NFL talent go to schools other then USC , Alabama...Notre Dame etc. That shouldn't have to be stated. Just cause people havent heard of them doesnt mean they arent worthy of a draft pick and def doesnt mean they wont succeed in the NFL.
Umm you seems to have knowingly left out Furman, NW Missouri St., La Tech.. don't insult my intelligence. See my next reply below this..
Have you heard of any of these players we selected in rds 4-7, regardless of what school they went to? There is a reason for that.
I do hope we bring in Coleman (Rutgers WR) as a UDFA and see what he can do. Looking at the film he seems pretty fast although not many 6'6" receivers make it in the NFL
Of course I did. Just like you ignored the 8 guys who didn't fit your argument. And Round 7 went to Utah. So three guys out of 12 is "going far and beyond" to pick small-school guys? Sounds like you felt like complaing about something and picked a topic at random
