5 on the roster none as good as this kid IMHO. still work to do, but let's see. The tight end they took is pretty damn good. Let's see what happens
This thread title sums it up. Amaro f--king sucks. It's one thing to be glacial, another to be so damn passive as we watch teams that aren't afraid to pull the trigger leapfrog us for the remaining legit playmakers on the board. First Seferian-Jenkins and Lee (the top 2 guys I desperately wanted) back to back. Kick to the groin there. Then Jordan Matthews and Paul Richardson....GONE.... And if management had Amaro ranked ahead of those guys they are just fu--ing blind, I'm sorry. Terry Bradway should have been kicked to the curb and thrown about 10 drafts ago...
Amaro sucks? What planet are you on. More like great pick. Even Francesa today said if the Giants or jets took him, home run !!!
I really like Amaro. Still blowed away that he was available in the 2nd. 1300 yards as a TE if he could get half that with the Jets its a bonus.
Unbelievable. http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york-jets/post/_/id/38776/jets-explored-trade-up-for-marqise-lee Instead of messing around with Tampa and trying to play hard-ball negotiator (no doubt) with the clock running down, Idzik should have worked out a deal with the Texans @ #33, who were supposedly looking to trade down. All the extra picks are worthless if you can't find a way to convert them into good players.
We ended up getting Amaro, and we can still get a good WR in the 4th tomorrow (ie. Abberderis). Had we traded up, we probably wouldn't have drafted a top rated TE.
You mean other than every Jets fan who clamored for Jairus Byrd and T.J. Ward? Pryor can be the T.J. Ward half the board wanted to sign.
Would rather we traded for a decent WR at this point than get a "project." Anybody we get is going to be part time or under trained. If we are fine with that, cool, but our depth isn't as bad as you think right now. We can also pick up someone when teams make cuts in camp.
I still hope we get a chance to trade one of our 4s for Claiborne put that was probably never a real possibility anyway.
You can't consider his stats in any NFL terms at all..he played in a system where they threw the ball 60 times a game. He will help but he isn't another Gronk.
I guess you avoided the FA threads where everyone was hoping we spend our cap room on Byrd. Or then maybe grab Ward? People thought WR or CB was our biggest need but it seems the draft broke out that S ended up being players that went 1st round over WR. The Jets played it correctly because they would not have been left with great S prospects if they went elsewhere 1st round. The player itself I can't specifically comment on, but many had him as being at the top tier of the S class this year and if you saw, 3 other safeties went round 1 after him. And the Jets waited and got Jace round 2, so as of right now things have broken quite nice positionally for the Jets.
That 3rd pick was a question mark in my book. The guy gets hurt. To make that pick at 3 just made me scratch my head.
Idzik: we want to move up from #49. How about we toss in a conditional 7th rounder in next year's draft? Licht (Bucs GM): (click)
It just proves Idzik is very stubborn and stingy. To get the player you covet you have to give up something. Idzik is like many callers on WFAN saying we should trade or junk for something good. LOL!!!
