I dont see anyone left who can do that. You go with the best WR available and that is Jarvis. Hr does the dirty work and catches everything

Maybe buffalo would be willing to move down and recoup a pick after their trade up. We get there I think we are a lock for lee or mathews

    My preferences, not my prediction:

Round 2: Carr, Jordan Matthews, Lee, AJS or Amaro, Garoppolo

Round 3: CJ Fied (if no TE in 2nd), Landry, McCarron

Carr? The QB? Get the heck out of here. What are they going to do with him? They have two QB's. Waste their pick with that nonsense.

Buffalo just traded S. Johnson to 49ers for a 4th... that would have been a solid trade for the jets since we have 2 4ths....

After a long day on here and reading some articles...I see us taking a WR in rd 2.

Jordan Matthews or Cody Latimer are the most likely we will have a shot at.

If lee was such a great value, why did all of the GMs including philly who's head coach probably knows him better than all of us pass for a player they could have drafted in a later round along with the panthers GM ? Maybe his knee issue is a bigger deal and he doesn't return to 2012 form? It perplexes me that we all are picturing him as a top 10 pick if he came out a year ago which may be true but what are we missing that every other GM who needed a receiver didn't feel that way? Why would a GM rather take a risk on Kelvin Benjamin than Lee? That speaks volumes to me

What are you talking about? Fitzpatrick? Keenum? Yates?

If the Houston Texans grab Carr they will have filled arguably the two most important positions in all of football and will be set up for a decade plus.

They will get an A+ draft grade even if the go fullback with every other pick.

Yes, I would. If we had taken a WR in the 1st round, I wouldn't have had a problem with it, but since we took a defensive player, I would. We need playmakers on offense, specifically at WR and we need a two-way TE, or at least a starting-caliber TE.

You should. Slow WRs get you nowhere. Aside from Ford and Hill, all the Jets WRs are pretty slow, and Ford and Hill both are pretty useless. The Jets already have 3 possession receivers in Kerley, Decker and Nelson and not one legitimate WR with any speed. Why in the heck would we want another possession receiver? That makes no sense. I don't how good Landry's hands are. He's short too, and there's not much worse than a short, slow WR.

Keenan Allen had a 4.71 40 time which isn't far off from Jarvis Landry and some scouting reports say Jarvis has the best hands in the draft. A good route runner who has reliable hands is going to be important for Geno to develop. This link below shows Landry might have best hands in draft and I think if he's sitting there in the third or fourth it's great value

I don't dispute that he may have the best hands in the draft, but Cooks and Beckham aren't far behind and they're every bit as good and probably better route runners. Cooks knows the complete route tree. If you've read much of anything about him, it's how hard he works, how many questions he asked his collegiate position coach, and how he wants to be the best. If Landry is sitting there in the 3rd or 4th, it would be great value for most teams, but I don't think it would be for the Jets.

Listen, I normally don't even like short WRs. Just a few years ago, I was screaming on other Jets boards how recently the Jets always took short WRs in the draft and never a tall one. Cooks changed my mind on him due to his great character, work ethic, hands, route running, toughness and speed. He and Beckham were the only short WRs I had any interest in in this draft. Landry will probably be a great pick for some team that needs a possession receiver. The Jets don't have a receiver that excels at YAC and that's what the WCO offense needs, not a possession WR, yet that's all the Jets have. Landry sucks at YAC. There are probably 15 WRs in the draft that are much better at it than him. Landry is not a good pick for the Jets imo.

Saying things "I dont know" and "probably" doesn't help your argument of why Jarvis Landry wouldnt immediately make this offense better.

Why? None of us are experts. The problem with this and all Jets boards is that some people post in absolutes as if they know everything. While I may be very opinionated, and try to back up my opinions with facts, stats, quotes, etc., in the end, it's just my opinion. I don't expect to change anyone's mind very often on a fan site. Most people's minds are already made up, so the best you can do is just agree to disagree. I despise the tit-for-tat petty arguing that goes on on these sites. Occasionally, I may be in a bad mood, someone's post may hit me wrong and I may post a nasty respose, or I may allow myself to get dragged into that kind of thing, but as a rule, I try to stay civil and have intelligent, civil discourse.

If you don't agree with me, or think my "arguments" valid, fine. It's no skin off my nose and I can live with it.

Screw it--Garopollo in the 2nd, Mettenberger or McCarron in the 3rd.

Unfortunately, if I had to guess, I'd say the Jets are hot for Amaro.

They just posted this video. Notice the headline is about Amaro even though Charles Davis only mentions him briefly and the interview is more to get his overall take on the Jets and what happened in round 1.

I hope the Ravens or somebody else in front of us takes him off the board.

Mistakes are made every year. How many teams passed on Keenan Allen?

I don't think you can arbitrarily say a player sucks or that there must be hidden red flags just because he gets passed over and falls lower than the consensus "experts" mocks.
