Raiders (James Jones and a bunch of inconsistent receivers)
    Jacksonville (Blackmon questionable)
Steelers (They just have Antonio Brown)
    Chiefs (Bowe and only Bowe)
Rams (Tavon and a few prospects we know nothing about)
Cowboys (Dez as a #1 and Terrance Williams in the slot, whose playing on the other side? Miles is gone)

Each of these teams could take a wide receiver. 6 teams, and if they all take receivers we are fucked.

Complete route tree (as a reason to take Matthews over Lee) is bogus, sorry... USC ran as close to a "pro-style" system as any of the receivers in this draft and Lee is a perfect route-runner. His change-of-drection abilities crush Matthews. Also, Lee's vert was 38".

Where Matthews really got it done at Vandy is taking the quick hitter the distance. He's strong and hard to tackle with the ball and has pull-away speed. I think he'd be a really good fit for the Jets' offense.

101, I agree that both are likely gone before the Jets pick. Matthews is exactly what the Rams need, and what they were hoping that Brian Quick would turn into.

I would prefer ASJ or Amaro at our spot. If we can get one of them we are set.

Depends on who's BPA. I'd prefer a WR there personally, and then a TE like CJ Fed or Niklas in the 3rd round.

That's fair. My point is some of those guys have bigger needs than wr and there's a lot of talent left. Rams may take yankey at guard, cowboys need someone on the d line in the worst way, and I think the chiefs draft after us. Also, of the raiders and steelers they may have Robinson and Latimer ranked ahead so while we might be screwed we might also get great wide receiver value staying put and then saving our fourth round pick from Tampa to get cj or Niklas who are more complete tight ends than Ebron so u kill two needs with two picks rather than one with two picks
As a side note I was really glad when panthers took Benjamin in the first. Think he's too raw to be the best fit for Geno today

Watching NFL network they are thinking Lee will go in the first 3 picks tonight so we may have to move right to the top to get him. It's not popular but I can see the Jets taking Amaro and using him in the WR/TE role and not take a true WR at all. They seem to like big receivers and this guy would fit that role and they still have Cumberland as a blocker. It works pretty well for NE.

Well, then I guess they don't need one seeing as they don't have one.

Baltimore picking right before us bothers me too.
They have a knack for picking good players, and I can see them taking Matthews if there. Reminds me a little of Boldin.

Chiefs i don't believe have a 2nd round choice. Cowboys have to address defense.
but overall i agree, there could be a run, and we'd have to trade up to secure a guy if we really liked.

Anyone think a run on QB's could help our cause (or even the Jets taking one of those QB's)?
as usual, how QB's move will drive a lot on the draft board.

Jets could easily trade up in front of Baltimore if they want someone they think they might pick.

Trade up for Lee, and we got 2 first round picks (Lee goes top 10-15 overall most years, this year was just extra deep at WR and he had the injury hurting his numbers).
With Calvin Pryor and Marqise Lee, we get a pair of marquee names (pun intended) and instant starters at WR and S. We will have a rookie of the year candidate for the defense and the offense, in the same year! This would be an amazing draft, regardless of who else we get!

Please Idzik and co., make it happen!

I haven't wanted a player for the Jets (Matthews) this bad since Wilkerson coming out of Temple a few years back.

granted Wilkerson's upside was more than Matthews, but i think Matthews is exactly the right attitude and skillset to move this offense literally and figuratively forward.
    think Boldin..

Lee also broad jumped 127 inches compared to Matthews' 120 inches. 38 and 127 inch vert and broad respectively speaks to his explosiveness. People too often gets enamored with 40 times. That said; I'm pretty sure Lee can also post a sub 4.50.

Maybe that causes him to drop to 17.

Yeah, I read that rumor. Allegedly it was worse than they reported at USC during the season.

with the Josh Gordon news we have little chance of getting any of the good receivers now.
