^^^ "I wish we lost that game!" Wishing the Jets, the Jet players, the Jet coaches, walked off that field in Miami as losers…. This thread blows, dolphinfannerd. ^^^ This post blows. Go follow OBJ & the Giants then .…
You play to win the game. Any other attitude is unacceptable. I don't care how many draft spots it means. You play to win the game. Every game. Every time.
no for a variety of reasons. the main one being that win really set the jets into the offseason right...it was a big win for the locker room and set the tone for the excitement surrounding the team...that win was worth a lot and was a BIG win for this team to end the season.
Absolutely. I remember greatly enjoying that win. We coincidentally were in Florida, and I felt great walking around that night and the next day with the buzz still going. As a fan I understand and take part in the focus on season long standings, playoffs, improving the roster and all that. But we also follow the sport one game at a time. I enjoy every win. That's the nature of the experience. Add in that how much you really benefit by moving up a few spaces is a crap shoot. All draft picks are crap shoots. In short, this thread sucks.
Best player on this roster was picked at #30 Best rookie WR last year was picked in the third round. Pryor was picked by the same GM that landed last year's DROY. Last year we doubted the Sheldon Richardson pick & Idzik proved us wrong. No need to think so negatively at this stage.
Sucks we didn't go 4-12 last year. Bring back the old old 70's and Kotite days. The draft is way more important than the actual season. All the season does is set-up the draft order, which is more important. ; )
http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/126546/thumbs-up-thumbs-down-for-no-1s They gave this move a THUMBS DOWN. I'm very happy beating Miami and picking where we did.
I would rather have completely tanked last year and got a top 5 pick...the worst thing you can be in this league is mediocre. No difference between going 8-8 and missing the playoffs or 0-16
Actually there is a BIG difference. It's WAY more difficult to bring team from 0-16 to a playoff contender, than it is to bring an 8-8 team over the hump, even with middle round picks vs early picks. Yeah I wish we were more like the Jaguars. They've had a top 5 pick the last 3 years and a top 10 in 2008 - 2011 and look where they still are. That's definitely the team the Jets should strive to be. I guess they're on the 10 year rebuild plan.
