That is fucking hilarious. Has anyone else picked up on this? The NFL could have issues with that for sure.
I don't understand people hating this pick at all. The way the draft was going meant a lot of guys we wanted were gone at 18 like Ebron & the 3 best WR etc. So knowing how deep the WR class is we had our pick of every S in the draft and took our top rated S from our board Pryor, which was a real need on the team. The S position wasn't regarded as deep at all in the draft so clearly the Jets thought, why not take our pick of the litter now and move onto offense later. The fact that 4 S went in the 1st shows how we basically started a run on S in the draft. We know the WR position is deep so we got the best player at a position of need, what's not to love? The WR we take in the 2nd or 3rd has the ability to be a difference maker in the NFL. I don't feel the same about any S left on the board at all that we could possible select in the 2nd or 3rd round. We could draft a WR & TE in the 2nd and 3rd and have brought in 3 new starters with our 1st 3 picks. Hopefully we don't start trading up and we keep our picks to bring in another 11 guys. This draft has a lot more very good guys to offer over the next couple of days. Can't wait to see who we select.
We should have taken Bridgewater. Bridgewater was the consensus #1 pick for two years ... until after he played his last game ... and then the "experts" got a hold of him and almost knocked him out of the first round. IMHO, we don't have a QB. And in 2014 NFL, if you don't have a QB, you keep taking one until you do. Regarding Pryor, WalterFootball.com didn't even have him in their first three rounds of their mock drafts until January; that's a gigantic red flag as far as I'm concerned.
Lol, and that's the reason why you don't like the pick? Makes no sense. First time I've seen anyone hate a pick cause of that minuscule reason. Bridgewater didn't make sense considering we have Geno and Vick. Geno's going into his 2nd season for crying out loud. Let's see how he performs once we actually give him some legitimate weapons, and not the crap he endured last season. Bridgewater also isn't this can't miss QB prospect. If he was, he'd have gone a lot sooner.
Blew that opportunity last night by not getting Cooks. Jordan Matthews will be gone by the time we pick.
I wanted Odell Beckham to fall. He didn't. I wanted Eric Ebron to fall. He didn't. That left Cooks, who I don't view as significantly better as the other receivers available, Dennard who I have questions about, and Pryor who I didn't actually think a ton about because for whatever reason I didn't think we'd pick a safety. I'm not ecstatic about Pryor, but given the other options, I have no issue with what they did. I understand Kurt's frustration about the lack of skill players. If the Jets don't leave tonight with at least 1 WR/TE, I'll be very frustrated, and I'd like 2 by the end of round 4.
bah..no need to vent..would have preferred a CB or WR but at least this guy can hit and we may need it with the corners we currently have..a lot of receivers will be running in the wild.
I don't know if Matthews will be gone, but if he is, there are 8 other receivers I'd be perfectly fine coming away with. And 2-3 tight ends.
I'm ecstatic about this pick... One of my fav positions in football is when a Safety can play in the box... Victor Green anyone? Finally a Safety who lays the fukin wood... been too long.
Our secondary needed an overhauling and this is a step in the right direction. 1 down, 11 to go fellas.
For everyone complaining about not going offense this year, you do realize the Jets grabbed Vick, CJ, Decker, and Giacomini in FA this year, right? I'm not a huge fan of Pryor. But they've proven me wrong before. I think he's more of an in the box safety and we could use more of a ball hawk, but what do I know? I was hoping for cooks, but it's hard to ignore the WRs left. Lee, Matthews, Robinson, Latimer are all huge potential WRs. CB could be an issue here, but I'm glad we got a position of need that was the top guy on their board... Even if he wasn't close to the top on my board. And to be honest, I said the same thing last year... "You're passing on star to grab Richardson? You must really see something I don't." I'm gonna go ahead and trust the pick. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
10 years ago I'd agree. Not in today's NFL. I hope he can control it, which I think he can. He's never been described as a head hunter. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
1st really wanted Teddy --> I know this was not one the bigger needs on the team, but I think we had the best qb in the draft fall to us ..... ugh ... what could have been. Polamalu is my favorite non-Jet. Jets haven't had an enforcer in the secondary in a long while. Pryor might be what makes this defensive special. Rex Ryan defenses love to force quick throws ... Pryor will get picks and lay people out. Creating fumbles and drops. The Jets had 1st choice of safeties --- I will trust that they got the best one. I can get behind this pick.. loved it when we had Laron Landry. With so many quality players left on the board,, including WRs. ( Hoping for Jordan Mathews ) How the Jets do today will be just as if not more important.
No problem with Pryor. He was arguably the besat safety available. We now have second round quality WRs and TEs available for us to draft in the 2nd round Better there than taking them in the first round
