Sheldon and Wilk are going nowhere, if we can't get a reasonable contract for Harrison he's gone I promise you. No way we are going to tie up a huge chunk of our cap on 3 interior linemen, we live in a salary cap world where tough choices have to be made sometimes.
You do realize that the main reason why Wilkerson and Sheldon are able to play up to their ability is because they play next to someone of Harrison's ability, right? Who does his job extremely well and is only getting better. If you think that a quality young dominant NT like harrison is so easy to find he can be considered a "luxury" I don't know what to tell you. The best teams in the league spend a considerable portion of their cap space along the lines for a reason. Based on your previous posts, I don't think you really know what the job is of a 3-4 NT (or Rex's defense).
He's gone if he asks for too much money is my point everything else you continue to spout off is completely irrelevant to the point I'm making.
No he doesn't. Google it. He is a strong safety for the Jets. Allen and Pryor can play both but Allen is slotted as our strong safety
? Did you watch him play last year? He's a true strong safety but Landry played strong and he played free. I think you should google it lol
Antonio Allen is an American football free safety for the New York Jets of the National Football League. He was drafted by the New York Jets in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He played college football at South Carolina. Wikipedia http://www.nfl.com/player/antonioallen/2532786/profile
Allen is a strong safety with cover skills. I'm really excited to see the schemes that Rex plays him with Pryor. This is going to be fun to watch.
Dawan started at free safety not Allen. When Reed started Landry went to SS. This has been argued about 100 times already.
So 5 minutes later Google is wrong? Doesn't really matter what is argued 100 times we don't have any true free safeties
Google is right. He started 8 games at SS that is his position Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
Starting lineup for safeties in Rex's system is irrelevant most times. He switches his players all over the place all game long. It may matter once contract negotiations roll around, but agents aren't going to break down game tape to see where their client spends most of their time, at least I assume they don't. Case in point. I tried to call out Maximus for his claim that Wilk played everywhere - and excelled - on the defensive line. I know the guy is good, but to excel everywhere sounds like a boast. I watched one game where he basically owned the psyche of Drew Brees for four quarters. Guy played NT, DE on both sides, OLB a couple of times, and the number of techniques he played in all of those positions boggled my mind. But everyone considers him RDE. Because that's what it says on the TV box on gameday.
I'd love to see Landry play rarely if at all. Allen really excels covering TEs and I'd like to see Ed Reed come back one more year to play center field when the situation calls for it. Just between those three guys Rex should have the freedom to really scheme his coverages the way that he wants to for the first time since he had Revis and Cromartie together at full strength.
I'm not sure about Ed Reed coming back at this point. There's some weird shit going on with him this off-season. Agree with the rest of your post, though.
There's this. http://nesn.com/2014/02/ed-reed-withdraws-50k-from-bank-immediately-has-money-stolen-by-thieves/ Which in itself isn't damning, but this is the last we have heard of him. Weird, at least to me.
