Anyone that thought we were picking a WR in the first round hasn't paid attention to the Seahawks. Who have their drafted WR's been? Golden Tate and a bunch of #4/5 guys? Idzik probably values them as little as Rex does in the draft.

So much for any theory about Rex not driving the train. If the Jets ever amount to anything resembling a SB contender, it will be on their defense, not their offense.

Nice pick. Top safeties are few in this draft. Good receivers are plentiful. Look for offense in the next two picks.

Smith was the 40th ranked QB last year out of 40 NFL starters and you actually compared him to a HOF QB. I agree, " Some people just shouldn't be allowed to post here"

He is seriously lacking as a coverage safety. "Wasn't asked to play much man coverage and didn't cover slot receivers often." Plus we already have two FS. Don't like the pick at all.

They gave up quite a lot for Percy Harvin.

Sweet. If there was any doubt about Pryor, this disapproval just about makes this a phenomenal pick.

Dawan Landry and Josh Bush are medicore Free Safeties. Don't see how its Pryor's fault he wasn't used in that capacity by Louisville.

Who's to say he can't play man coverage and cover slot receivers?

As some of pointed out, the Jets were handcuffed at QB since they signed the scumbag Vick earlier this year. A waste of a human being yes, but more importantly, Vick is injury prone and has never finished a season. This terrible move forced their hand in the draft. You cannot draft Johny Football and have your 3rd QB sitting on the bench making $5 million a year. Jets should have committed to Smith, and gone into the draft looking to draft another QB to compete with Simms for the backup role.

That being said, even with drafting Manziel not being an option, I am disappointed with the pick. I watched a lot of Oregon games this year and I think Cooks would have been very good on the Jets. He never missed a game with an injury, has great hands, great speed, and very good in the return game. You can find plenty of decent safeties in the 2nd and 3rd round, but you will not find any receiver with the talent and explosiveness of Cooks.

I doubt it. Even more so when like 4-5 safeties were taken in round 1.

This is a deep WR class, we'll be fine.

Bruce Ellington is a very quick WR who can be had in round 3 and had he not been a half basketball/half football player in his time at South Carolina, would be taken much higher in this draft. There are plenty of very good WRs remaining.

Loston/Reynolds/Boston are nice safeties but they don't do what this guy can do.

Did you even bother to look up the stats?

Brees in 2003 2,108 yards 11 TD 15 INT 67.5 rating in 11 games, not exactly HoF numbers.

With 12 picks I would have liked to see them move up and grab some offensive talent.

Yeah, they traded for an established, still younger receiver. They didn't draft him though.

We still need another CB since we're still weak at that position.

SOJ. They're not getting a Cooks type talent in Rd 2 or later.

As long as Dipshit Woody owns this team, they will never get out of their own way. Eric Decker and Kerley, that's basically the Jets WR corps. Pathetic. And none of the WR's left on the board are anything more than average.
