Even a gutsy guy like Zucc gets pushed off the puck so easily in the corner. St. Louis was so bad..so physically weak..and skill he has is offset on how small and easy to get off the puck he is. That's why Kreider was so important...but he looked so rusty too. Nice to see him admit it but if these guys cant overcome their size by using speed..you get what we have. Down 3 to 1. With the way these games have been played, it wouldn't surprise me if this team could figure out that the Penguins are not a good defensive team and win Friday. Also wouldn't surprise me if they get blown out of the building...that's how down in the dumps this team sounded after the game.
Incredible Jon..you are dead on. What the Penguins are doing isn't brain surgery..its amazing how great they have looked on defense..and how they will be exposed in the next round.
He has been awful..but so many guys have been awful that you have to start looking at the HC and their ability to make changes on the fly. As Jonny noted, the trap they are implementing isn't brain surgery. Problem is that when you have to dump and grind to beat it..this team is so light up front, your left with Pouliot and really no one else to do the dirty work. So....roster? Coaching..we know its a flawed roster...perhaps nothing is on this roster to make any changes.
Yeah MR..I even think the Canadiens will have their way with them too. The Rangers are going against a goalie who is begging to mentally implode..begging..and the kind of pressure this team puts on goalies only makes them feel better about themselves. 35 shots on net by the Rangers is equal to 10 shots on net by any other NHL team. They have done everything they can to give Fluery the confidence he needs in this series. Enough shots to the chest adds up to over 30 shots a game..and Fluery feels like he is back...and he is only one 10 minute offensive explosion by a real NHL team from becoming the mental case we all know he is.
Lot of dead wood to exorcise, rather see younger guys next year with heart and effort, get rid of Nash, Richards and MSL

exactly..and why deep down I think there is no way this team comes back and even wins a game in this series..there is another side of me that really believes that one explosion...one dominating period on offense..and this guy can become a basket case. It can be done..but not sure if this roster could dominate like that for a period.

In a perfect world, Dolan like he did what the Knicks, comes to his senses and dumps Sather and a new guy comes in and we just eat it for several years. Most Ranger fans would sign up for that..just get rid of all the dead wood as you described..dead on. Just cut your losses and start over. You have enough talent with Girardi.MAC, Staal to build there and start all over up front.
funny thing is MR is that he was giving up rebounds early in the series..just the last 2 he stopped...because we have done everything we can to empower him. He has had the perfect team to play against to regain his confidence. Still. the mental case deep down is burning to come out. How about that one shot by Nash when we was against the side of the glass on the end line...he fires a wrist shot from there into the chest of Fluery and the announcer says "Nash is not afraid to throw a low percentage shot at the goaltender" Low percentage? I could have caught that with my ass.
