Don Banks at SI.com with some tidbits: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/nf...manziel-houston-texans-2014-nfl-draft-rumors/
Pretty decent source... https://twitter.com/CharlesRobinson/status/464231842607296513 Charles RobinsonVerified account@CharlesRobinson Landed in NYC. Spent a lot of time on the Manziel shell game over the last couple months. I believe he'll be a Tampa Bay Buccaneer tomorrow.
I don't see any way it would be Shazier. In all likelihood, he wouldn't be the BPA and the position is not a top need.
I don't have a link, but the NFL channel keeps flashing the insider report from Ian Rapoport that the Jets are seriously trying to trade up to ten for O. Beckman.
I would throw up. Trading up would be iffy enough, but trading up for OBJ would be so freaking retarded. At least trade up if Watkins or Evans falls to a certain spot. OBJ won't be anything special at the NFL level, imo.
https://twitter.com/McClain_on_NFL/status/464382021016748032 John McClain@McClain_on_NFL In a trade for top pick, Texans are hoping to get a 1st-round swap and picks in 2nd and 3rd rounds this year and a No. 1 in 2015..
If Miami legit loves Shazier.... Call up Ted Thompson(Who has the 21st pick)....Tell em you can up 3 spots ahead of pesky Miami and Arizona to get your guy if you love him and it will just cost up a 4th round pick. That gets the deal done. AND YOU STILL take Cooks or Barr. You get more ammo to make a day 2 move up with that 4th(Packers have 9 selections and while Thompson values picks like no tomorrow, if it costs 1 mid round pick to get THE guy you want, that's something you heavily consider doing). Or you can keep it and be giddy knowing you just got 7 bright talents in the first 4 rounds. Miami just got screwed up a talent not falling to them in the process too.
Adam Schefter ?@AdamSchefter ·2m Change to draft format this year: each draft pick in attendance will have selected a walk-up song to be played when he is selected. Oh boy....I wish someone picks something hilarious.
I heard it too Bradwy and Francesa proved that he--seriously--doesn't have a clue about college football in general and the draft in particular. In speaking about one of the premiere talents in this year's draft (Sammy Watkins), Francesa felt compelled to stupidly blurt out his 'concerns' that "Watkinzz ismall" ..... before Mariucci politely corrected him by saying he's 6'0" and 200 lbs. At that point (while not willing to allow himself to stand corrected or simply letting it go), Francesa continued digging and lamely tried to cover up his ignorance and save face by declaring "well in today's world, 6'0" isn't big" as if Watkins -- in Francesa's world -- was some sort of smurf. Mike's getting greasier than a Wal-Mart parking lot in his old age. back on-topic: another rumor: The NFL will finally hold its annual draft this evening.
WTF is the NFL thinking? I'm sorry, but that's just idiotic imo. What's next dancing bears? Animal acts? I agree with you. I hope someone picks something that will embarrass the NFL and make them see what a stupid idea it is. None of the players probably know it, but I'd love to see one of them pick "Alligator Woman" by Cameo or "Fat Bottom Girls" by Queen. lol
I totally agree jilozzo. Just reporting what I saw flash in front of my angry eyes. Actually if we trade down correctly I would be in awe of Idzik even more.
Ian RapoportVerified account@RapSheet #Jets are doing a lot of groundwork for QBs that may land in the first round or early in the 2nd round. Watch for Carr, watch for Garoppolo
I mean, if you're hell bent on finding The Franchise Guy, and think that it is the most indispensable piece to lasting success, then I guess a strategy of not stopping until you get there can make sense.
