I don't think Beckham will be lasting to the Jets pick. There are too many teams interested in Beckham now with Buffalo, Detroit, the Rams, Pittsburgh, the Raven, 49ers and Jets all interested. Without Beckham I think its likely we will go CB over WR. Which means Dennard or Fuller. There is a good chance one or both of those might go before the Jets pick. If both go likely we will then have to settle for Cooks. My guess is Fuller gets picked 1st and we end up with Dennard.

The big question is how many of the big 3 QBs (Bortles, Carr and Manziel) get taken before the Jets pick. My guess is only one goes before 18 which has the effect of limiting the position players available to us.

You're right, the more QBs fall the worse it's for the Jets. I hope 3 QBs go before #18, but I doubt it.

Marquise Lee ... at the end of the day I think he has the best career of any WR in the draft.

    Just my humble opinion.

I think the best CB in the class is a toss up between Gilbert and Roby. They are both very good but have different styles. Gilbert is pure coverage with fluid technique and the dazzle return skills. He'll tackle from the feet or pull you down from behind, he's not going to be tackling running backs head on, but he can be that shut down corner. Roby is much less flash but much more physical and a tough tackler. Roby and Gilbert are athletically on par, and both are superior to Dennard. Roby is by far the most aggressive though. He's almost like a safety. I see Roby as a better fit for our style, I think this is why the Jets have had such a high interest in him (3 visits). General consensus is that Gilbert is the best followed by Dennard and then it's a mash up of Roby, Verrett, Fuller depending on who you talk to. I'd be surprised if Gilbert was still on board by our pick. If we picked him I would be happy, he will be a very good player. But if we are going to draft a CB within the first two rounds I see more value in going elsewhere in the first and then grabbing Roby or Verrett in the second because it seems like they both are gonna fall out of the first.

Those are the 2 best cornerbacks athletically (Gilbert and Roby). I just wonder about Roby mentally. I'd love him or Verrett in round 2 if they fell, but I can't get on board with either in round 1.

if you want to be short sighted about it than i guess you could find flaws in my argument.

Pryor because at that point Gilbert and Dennard will be gone leaving Roby as the only other CB worthy of a 1st round pick. But if the Jets dont want to kill me by selecting him then they select Pryor to bolster the secondary at another position.

I'm worried about that too. It's basically the worst case scenario if all the top WRs, Ebron, both FS and a few lineman are gone leaving us with either a QB or some reach. I really hope there is a run on QBs early to free up some WRs and even a CB or two.

Mine too. ...just saw this article...

"WR Marqise Lee of USC fits that kind of player who would thrive in the Jets’ offensive system. With having the No. 18 pick in the draft, many suggest that Lee should still be available for the taking. Lee would bring an explosive presence and a ton of talent to the Jets.
Considered by most to be the third best receiver in the draft, Lee is even more appealing since he could also be the Jets’ main contributor for punt and kickoff returns. Talk about filling two key positions with one versatile player."

Pryor's not the best Safety, Bucannon is and he'll be taken in the second I'm guessing.

Never said he was. But HaHa should be gone by our pick. Pryor is a solid choice at 18. If they are going D and Barr and the top 2 CBs are gone Id be satisfied with Pryor.

Why would you be satisfied when a better safety is on the board? It's would be like last year with us taking Milliner instead of Trufant. They'll both be good, but just look at the years they had, Trufant was clearly better. HaHa is going to be a bust by the way. I hope he's gone before we pick.

We are going to trade back into the mid twenties, grab an extra second rounder, and pick M. Lee.

The Round One projected Safeties (Clinton-Dix & Pryor) are overrated. I heard Clinton-Dix make a comment he use to hate going to practice. I think Pryor will be a good prospect, but I have concerns of his over physical nature in the Pussy offense loving NFL. I've had serious concerns drafting Clinton-Dix or Pryor. If we draft a Safety, I'd rather have Bucannon or Ward in Rd 2.

If the Jets go DB, I hope Pryor is available.
I think there is more a need for a hard-hitting safety than a cornerback.
Other than Dennard and Gilbert, I'm not into CB's this year.
I think those two will be gone by #18.

The player I really want is Cooks.
I think he's the next Desean Jackson, if not better.

I won't cry if they select Lee.

I will throw a tantrum if they select an offensive lineman.

If it's Zach Martin you would be wasting a lot of energy for nothing, I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Just remember what an affect drafting D'Brick and Mangold had on the team. You can NEVER go wrong drafting O-line early - you just have to nail it.
