OBJ reminds me of kendall wright. Cooks reminds me of tavon austin/djax. Kelvin benjamin reminds me of ramses barden
http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/je...tion-players-early-draft-blog-entry-1.1758342 Very interesting article where Jets bloggers listed who they would pick for the Jets in the first 3 rounds and a player that the Jets should definitely not take in the 1st round. The player that most selected for the Jets in round #1? Brandin Cooks. The player that most selected to stay away from in round 1? Kelvin Benjamin (5 of the 10). In the 2nd round, the player most chosen was a tie between ASJ and Jace Amaro. The 10 bloggers each chose someone different in round 3.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...17-national-scouts-kelvin-benjamin-stock-down The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinelpolled 17 NFL personnel men "with national responsibilities" (read: veteran and/or high-level front-office status) for the draft's top five receivers, assigning five points for first-place votes, and the results weren't favorable for Benjamin: 1) Sammy Watkins (83 points); 2) Mike Evans (59); 3) Odell Beckham Jr. (55); 4) Brandin Cooks (25); 5) Marqise Lee(22). Not only is Benjamin missing, he's not even on the radar. Vanderbilt's Jordan Matthews was next with just three votes, followed by Indiana's Cody Latimer, Colorado's Paul Richardson, and Benjamin with two each.
He used to be a Blood? Where are all of the media turds trashing him for having GANG TIES? If the Jets draft this kid, either Mehta or Cimini (with an outside chance of Gary Liverlips Myers) will tweet something about that immediately.
i mean it doesn't sound like he wanted to be a blood, he just had no choice and left almost immediately from a character standpoint, the stuff that comes out on marqise lee is only positive
Lee has had a WEIRD life, on the plus side I think he's been made a more resilient person because of it. I think if the jets picked him #18 overall the media would sooner criticize them for choosing a player that they consider injury prone than anything else. I still think he's the best choice they can make, hell I bet he winds up being considered the best player available on their board IF he's a available at #18, dudes REALLY undervalued. I'm pulling for lee to come to NY Thursday and STAY here.
Not sure if I would call his early life weird, just sad. But it's great that he was able to become one of those guys that gets his ass out of there and makes a real life for himself. He seems like a really nice kid.
I was mostly joking, I'm more concerned with what the media jackals will try to do to him if he is chosen by the Jets.
Kid has been through a lot no doubt, it's a sad story. Players that come out and succeed in those situations show what type of character they have. So you know when it comes to tough times in the NFL when you are struggling, I feel Lee could thrive where others break down and bust. Turning a negative into a positive and looking to do right - just good traits to have. You want players like that on your team.
I agree. You have to root for people like that. If he becomes a Jet I won't be unhappy, but still would rather have Cooks and probably Beckham.
One of my sleepers for the 2nd round to watch out for, Jared Abbrederis, best route runner in the draft IMO, good hands catcher, watch some of his tape if you're bored before the draft.
He probably is more of a RD3/4 projection. Abbrederis torched Roby, it was ugly. He's been one of my favorites, love it if the Jets drafted him.
I think he sneaks into the 2nd, I love watching him run routes, he seriously makes guys look flat out silly, underrated athleticism too.
Doubt it, the depth at WR is incredible, some will fall further because of the # of WRs available. Only team reaching for Jared at the end of rd 2 would be the Pats, belichicken type player.
I could see the Seahawks taking him, he played with Russel, I'd be happy as hell if we landed him, I see him being very productive in the NFL no matter where he's picked.
ah, Abbrederis, I hear he's "scrappy" if you know what I mean. but hey we already got two "scrappy" starters at WR why not another? I like him a lot, he would definitely be a pick if he fell to the 4th, perhaps even a steal there.
Totally agree. Would he be a good fit for our scheme (serious question). Seems to be a very polished rout runner, with good hands, quick but not a true burner. He sure is a different kind of receiver than we have on the current roster and if Stephen Hill ever develops... Or would we be rather have a guy like Laundry, ODB, or KB
