Time to tighten up those mocks. Updated depth charts and draft priorities for all 32. I'm posting from phone, if someone cares to please paste Jets needs. Thanks. http://cornerblitz.com/2014/TeamNeeds/Default.aspx
TE High The Jets have not much at tight end, and adding a nice receiving option should be a priority in their West-Coast-Principles based offense. WR High The Jets would like to add an electric playmaker or two in the draft. Sitting at 18, they are primed to grab a very talented wideout in the first round. Of course, they could go with a corner or a tight end at that spot as well with as deep of a draft as this is at wideout. CB High New York's two best corners are last year's rookie Dee Milliner and ex-Eagle/Brown/Dolphin Dmitri Patterson. Patterson is much better suited to the slot than outside, so expect them to draft an outside corner in the first three rounds. OG Med Willie Colon's best days are likely behind him and the right side of New York's line is in need of some repair. Last year's rookie Brian Winters underperformed and it is likely that New York will be looking for a new starting guard in the draft. Maybe they slide Ben Ijalana and last year's pick Oday Aboushi inside to compete for those spots, but I think they will still select at least one guard. RT Med Breno Giacomini was considered by most to be the weak link on Seattle's line last year and he's currently set to take the starting RT job for the Jets. With all the draft picks New York has at their disposal, an offensive tackle selection is likely. OLB Med It's got to stick in Rex Ryan's craw that despite the monster production he got from his 5-technique ends, the Jets were still ranked middle-of-the-road in sacks. If they get a shot at a pass rusher they think is special, they will likely jump at the chance to take him. ILB Low David Harris is in the last year of his deal. Demario Davis is likely to hold the other starting job but the depth behind those two is deficient. Look for them to draft at least one inside linebacker on Saturday. FS Low Antonio Allen is a solid young player who the Jets were able to draft late a couple years ago but Dawan Landry is a guy who they should look to improve upon. Rontez Miles is an interesting prospect but New York may look to secure Landry's successor in the draft. 5T Low Last year's starters Wilkerson and rookie Richardson were a revelation. The Jets will likely look to add some depth behind their young stars. Nice write up. Jets need a FS. Rex likes playing 2 strong safeties back there for the run support but his defense got gashed big time last year until he finally bowed to reality and brought Reed in to play FS. Reed didn't even have to play well to help solve the problem he just had to play FS.
