I truly understand your position but lets understand what we are trying to do first, just from the moves we've made so far this offseason it looks like we are heading to a run first team, now if we draft offense first two rounds can Geno be trusted to get that ball to these "playmakers" without turning the ball over? Maybe, but Pace is on a one year deal, Coples was a 3 technique star in college now playing OLB he's decent against the run but let's be honest he isn't winning a race anytime soon. Honestly I'm looking at Dix or Pryor at 18 or Ford.

Prove me wrong then. Yeah 5-9 receivers are tearing up the league. I just answered a post with what I though. You the pompous one think he/she knows everything. How many first round pick have you predicted? Maybe Gholston was your guy. Really all this is a huge guessing game. No one here is a scout, talent evaluator, pro personnel director or GM. Its just a bunch of people that enjoy 1) Football 2) How their favorite team will build their team 3) Any and all predictions, insight, wish list, projections is all just wishful thinking. We aren't even getting paid for this but there are people that are and they get it WRONG each and every year.

I'd be happy with Cooks. Actually there are several players that if we drafted, I'd be happy with.

That is one and he was a 2nd round pick, and all due respect to Cooks but Jackson has CJ speed.

You're making my point. I said there aren't many 5-9 receivers tearing up the league and you want me to name 5. I can't but I can name 5 jumbo ones like Megatron, Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffries, Larry Fitzgerald and Andre Johnson.

Maybe you should be asking yourself that question. You seem to be the one not getting it.

I asked you to name me 5 under 6'0 receivers and you start naming off Megatron and Brandon Marshall? Desean Jackson is all you have? I only ask if you're simple because you also said Dee Ford is too SLOW to play 3-4 OLB, nothing personal dog.

Welker, Holmes, Jennings, D. Jackson, S. Moss, Steve Smith gave you 6. I'll be expecting you to make some snide remark about that too..geez.

No, I don't think I know everything. YOU are the one who spoke in absolutes that Cooks is only a slot receiver as if you knew everything. Funny how some posters are quick to accuse others of the very same thing of which they're guilty. Pull the log out of your own eye before you talk about the splinter in my eye.

I said your opinion is wrong because none of the media talking heads, none of the scouting reports I've read have even remotely suggested that Cooks is only a slot receiver. He played outside in college and had great success. So it is only your wild opinion with absolutely nothing to back it up that prompted my response. It would have been one thing if you had said, "Due to his height, I think he is best suited for the slot." That's not what you said, however. You stated that he was only going to be a a slot receiver in the NFL as if it was a fact. That's why I called BS.

Further, based on your claim that Dee Ford is slow or too slow for OLB, displays your ignorance. If you looked at any games he played, looked at any video of him or read anything about him at all, you'd know how wrong and utterly stupid that comments was. You lose credibility when you make stupid, ignorant comments.

I use my eyes and my brain too. If your eyes tell you that Dee Ford is slow, then you need to get glasses or have your prescription changed.

Agreed, Dee Ford is anything but slow, one of the quickest first steps I've seen in a while. Ford is raw and will have to adjust to the NFL, but athletically has it all to get to the QB.

I don't think the jets will pick Cook, everyone is assuming they will.

Idzik is going to throw a monkey wrench into this thing and Todd and Mel will sit there stunned like they did last year when Richardson was selected.

I don't know what to expect from the selection at 18 but whoever it is I'm sure it will fit with what the jets philosophy is.

Balanced offense that can be explosive, with an excellent defense to close the game out.

And I don't think it will be based on need, I think it will be based on who the jets BPA is.

I'm actually looking forward to this draft because I think idzik has a handle on this team and we are going to have an excellent draft.

Why not draft Michael Sam? He had 2 times as many sacks as Ford and you can get him in the middle rounds.

I think when asked about receivers tearing up the league he meant currently, 450 yds is not tearing it up.

The guy that Idzik really wants at WR, 6'2" 210 lbs and 4.45 40 with good college production, just isn't out there early on for the Jets.

Allen Robinson, Jordan Matthews and Donte Moncrief might fit the bill a bit further back in the draft but with the exception of Sammy Watkins, who is in the vicinity, and Mike Evans, the big fast receiver isn't there. All of Lee, Cooks and Beckham are on the smallish side.

David Nelson, Greg Salas, Eric Decker, Idzik likes them big.

I could easily see the Jets trading down to the 26 to get the big WR they want without reaching for him. I could see them waiting until the 49 and grabbing one of the bigger guys there.
