This collapse is worse than the mets of 07. No way in hell Vogel should be back next year if they get bounced in round 1
The Ginobili I remember from last year. Shoots a three, in balance, not deflected or anything, barely grazes the front rim.
I dont really view it as a collapse. Even when they were winning, I thought they had major flaws that would bite em in the end. They were never really as good as a team as the media built them up to be. We had the insight on this months ago, I told people "time tells all", and time is certainly telling all. As for Vogel, I feel bad that the media built up such large expectations, I think they had a good season and certainly have something to build on as a franchise as they head into the future, pending on whether they lose this series or not.
The Spurs are down 2-1 in the series and trail in Game 4. Could have both #1s lose. Time tells all? Does that mean the Spurs stink if they lose the series?
According to my expectations the Pacers had a succesful season, if im the owner im keeping Vogel. The Pacers were always either a first or second round exit. If they get to the next round I would consider it overachieving.
What? are you still under the belief that the Pacers are better than the Wizards? Or do you want to continue the conversations from months ago about how you were proclaiming how great the Pacers are? I told all you about the Wizards, no one listened. I told all you about the Pacers, no one listened. I got laughed at when I said the Wizards were better....
I would keep Vogel, I think it would be ridiculous to fire him. By any measure, he's been one of the most successful coaches in the league. Compare the team's seasons before hiring him and after hiring him. Disappointing that they're going to lose tonight and put themselves in a terrible position, but he should remain the coach regardless.
Of course the Pacers are better than the Wizards. Still no debate. The better team doesn't always win. What I told you was that the Pacers would beat the Wizards if they faced each other in a series. I still very much believe that. They dominated them during the season. You kept claiming the Wizards would beat the Pacers in a series if they faced off in the playoffs and I still disagree. Nothing changed.
You people are all guilty of putting expectations on the Pacers that were unrealistic, ALL OF YOU, everyone SINGLE one of you. You are now going to cost Vogel his job, and ruin his life. I hope you are all happy.
How is it not a collapse?? They were one of the best teams in the league from October to January. 1 home loss in there first 20ish home games. It was championship or bust for them this year. They have played like shit for the better part of 2 months. That's on the coach.
That sucks. I will have to call him up and apologize. Basically the Wizards lucked out and got to avoid the better team. Sometimes inferior teams advance deeper into the playoffs by having other teams make their road easier for them.
You must be joking right. Vogel has no one to blame but himself. The bold statements of talking about the 1 seed all season saying it was needed to beat Miami and then not even get there? That's on the coach for putting up those expectations. They have played like shit for a while. That's on the coach. Make adjustments. Do SOMETHING
Who said it was championship or bust? I said they were a first or second round exit. In my estimation they have met their expectations partially, I mean if they get to the next round I would consider it a successful season. Anyone who thought they were an ECF team was really off base. I never saw them as that and I didnt understand why anyone else did either.
I don't care what you said. The Indiana pacers went into this season with championship or bust aspirations.
let's cool it with the patting yourself on the back. You guaranteed Spurs/Nets NBA finals and said we can call you out if it doesn't happen. If Spurs/Nets is the Finals, I will start a thread congratulating you and tell everyone you should be referred to as soxxx, the NBA expert analyst. If it doesn't happen, it will just be another day in the life of soxxx.
Well I was unaware of that. When I evaluated their roster, I viewed them as a first or second round exit. I didnt really see anything special and was quite shocked and caught off guard when I learned that they were being discussed as a team that could win the NBA Finals. It really confused me and still does.
What do you mean you were unaware of it??? The entire season they have been preaching about thr 1 seed and home court to beat Miami in the ECF. That spells out championship or bust for them as a team. Come on dude LOL
