The purpose of the draft isn't to get the best wide receiver you can. The purpose of the draft is to build the nucleus of your team for the long term. With the salary cap and now rookie salary cap this is more true than ever. Teams are forced to rely on solid young talent from the draft to build a strong nucleus because that talent it is relatively cheap. In order to build a strong nucleus you need many solid contributors. In order to find many solid contributors you need to make many picks.
The Redskins just went 3-13 after making a huge trade for their franchise QB who played in 13 games. That's like the definition of screwed. Could things switch around? Sure they could but right now the Redskins are screwed. The coach just got fired.
Decker has 32 TDs over the last 3 years and didn't cost the Jets any picks and before you go on about Decker not being on the team until this off season, it is going forward what matters. Of course this thread was about Garoppolo until you came in and took it off topic. If that was because you had nothing to add on the subject you should have refrained from posting in the thread.
Yeah but RG3 rookie year took his team to a NFC East title. It a over all thing not a one year thing. Plus for a team that screwed they sure as hell look like they have a better offense then the Jets.
Garoppolo, cut and paste that into a search engine, read up on him and then come back if you have something to add. His game against Towson in the FCS Playoffs would be a good place for you to start. They lost the game but that was only because T.West ran for over 350 yds and 5 TDs.
Don't need to look him up already know a lot about him. IMO I would pass on him. I think we are ok for now with Geno so don't waste a pick on QB. We have other needs right now.
Add to that file my first name is Geno. Even if it wasn't my first name and I have Geno007 means I should just give up on someone after his rookie year. Plus you can also add to that file I think Vick going to be the Jets starting QB.
Here's the reasoning what the Jets may be up to: Seattle brought in some guy named Russell Wilson while at the same time had given Matt Flynn an expensive multiyear contract. So I think there was a 3 or 4 way QB competition with Wilson winning out. What I am saying here is the Jets might draft a QB in the 3rd or later rounds. Having Logan T. and JG visit was not just to take them out for hamburgers but to possible get more options for the "what ifs" in the football world. This means giving Geno a chance to keep his position, Vick a chance to take it, or a rookie back up plan.
