As for the analogy he made, I only agree that both Sterling and slave owners were/are dependent on black people for their businesses to succeed. Edit: apparently the lawsuit against her alleges embezzling over a million dollars. She swore to get even, and wow did she succeed.

I can care less about predictions. When I talked about the Wizards being half decent and the Pacers being overrated it was just a basketball discussion. People just have to realize, basketball series are very close, and basketball games are even closer. Nothing has surprised me so far because its just short 48 minutes minute games.
Sterling agrees to not attend tomorrows game (at minimum). Silver: "there are broad powers in place allowing the NBA to place sanctions". NBA seems intent on investigating this fully but more importantly trying to shift focus back to the playoffs. Sterling very well could have attended his last LAC game, but who knows. Edit: Silver just implied that Sterling would've been suspended indefinitely pending the investigation had he not agreed to not attend the game. Silver expects the investigation to last a few days.

I'm curious what broad powers he is referring to? are there really powers in place to sanction an owner for having unpopular personal beliefs? how can the league actually defend that position when he merely expresses those beliefs in private? I'm not defending Sterling. I think his punishment is obvious -- these statements will make it difficult to own the team going forward and the league will urge him to sell. he will lose his team, that is his punishment. he has every right to be a racist, but you better make sure that never comes to light in this type of manner or else you will pay the price.
I'm assuming the league is much more inclined to be involved with the inclusion of Magic; I imagine, had he still been with ESPN now covering playoff games, it'd have been a huge PR mess seeing Magic comment on the LAC (obviously). I assume this is about Magic vs Sterling as much as it is racism vs Sterling; donald is lucky he didn't say anything racist about Silver's lover elBJ. For that, as opposed to just being comments about minorities, I assume the NBA will argue that these comments reflect how he operates the team and (thereby possibly) use it against him under the CBA. Silver may or may not be using this as his early defining moment, I wonder how much (and if at all) he'll be compared to Gooddell in years come. In the end Im guessing they'll just strip him of day-to-day operational powers and put pressure on him to sell, but who knows.
JVG had said it needs to be called a flagrant on the court for a review to happen, but in the playoffs, I've seen it a few times where they call it a regular foul and then review it (just happened with extracurricular stuff with valanciunas/livingston). Are there different rules in the playoffs?
