Please don't ever compare Cooks to Hill again. Their games, demeanor, skillset and most importantly, college production, are nothing alike. For those of you who are stuck on size, stick to the combines instead of the actual games.
I agree, it's the GMs and the owners and in all cases where they signed players that the Jets may have wanted and did not sign I doubt you will find any of them saying they overpaid. So to say the Jets didn't overpay them and that's why they went someplace else is ridiculous.
You have absolutely no clue and should smash your keyboard and watch and learn. You're really a borderline troll....and have a feeling I've run into in TGG's past.
Why do you say I have "absolutely no clue"? Because I have an opinion that is different than yours? Instead of just attacking me, why not add something to the discussion, or tell me why you think I'm wrong.
Both Cooks and Hill shot up draft boards late in the process, based presumably on the combine and workouts in shorts. Neither one were rated highly until weeks before the draft when they appeared out of nowhere. Marqise Lee, on the other hand, has been touted as a future NFL star for years; even when Robert Woods and Lee were both at USC, and Woods was talked about as a top NFL draft prospect (he was rated #1 at one point), they were saying that the real talent was Lee, that when he leaves USC he will be a top 5-10 overall pick. So Lee has been on the radar of NFL scouts for years, while Cooks has just burst onto the scene lately. Plus Lee just looks the part, while Cooks looks kind of shaky to me. I could be wrong, of course, but that's how I see it.
College stats can be misleading. Just ask Ryan Yarborough or Alex Van Dyke (if you forgot who they were, you're not alone!)
Hill Yes, Cooks No. Cooks shaky??....you're joking or trolling. Cooks was highly rated all year, he was one of the most productive WRs all year and was considered an early 2nd rd pick. His Combine and proday help move him into the 2nd half of Rd 1. Go look up Cook's #'s and compare them to Hill's last year at GT.....no comparison. Lee was on the "radar" because of a good 2011 and awesome 2012 and has taken a hit for a mediocre 2013. Cooks 2013 stats and Lee's 2012 stats are almost identical.
