Clinton Dix is phenomenal, he covers like a corner, tackles as well as anyone, and has the range to play the deep centerfield role, it's impressive to watch him play. I'd be shocked if he wasn't a top 10 pick.

At the 18th spot? Clinton-Dix for sure, compared to Pryor. I'm all for drafting a FS in this draft (even a SS wouldn't go amiss, but preferably FS) but honestly I'd rather a 3rd or or later on it. Unless they are BPA by a pretty significant amount.

Neither, really. Whereas Clinton-Dix has better coverage skills, I don't want to take a FS that high that doesn't have outstanding ball skills, and I don't think he does. I like Pryor later in the first, but he goes for the big hit too much and misses. He doesn't have the ball skills either, and if I'm trading down, it isn't going to be to take him, but Cooks or Beckham if they think #18 is too high to draft one of them, or Dee Ford.

Dee Ford could go top 15, pass rushers are a premium commodity in the NFL and I would argue that he's better then Mingo/Jordan/Ansah who were top 10 picks last year.

If we had to pick a FS in my opinion I like Ed Reynolds in the 3rd round. But if we had to choose between those 2, eh I guess Clinton Dix because he covers better.

I agree that he's better. I think he could be as good as Von Miller. You're right, he could go top 15. That wouldn't surprise me at all, but most of the projections I have seen were in the 20s. Of course, that's the media "experts" and not NFL teams.

Then that would be great for him to go top 10 or anywhere else but @18. Don't want him at all.

    Why?

  12. Pryor is likely a better overall player as he can really lay the hammer & has better instincts.

But Clinton-Dix is likely the better fit for the Jets as he'd be a great compliment to Antonio Allen.I've had a bit of a change of heart with him. He doesn't have great ball skills & instincts are good not great..but he moves very well for his size & hits like a truck. He also definitely has the length to match-up w/ Gradkowski if needed.

That'd give the Jets 2 big, physical safeties.Allen is your ball hawking rover who maybe lacks alittle range teamed w/ HCD who is your deep hard hitting patrolman.Pretty good tandem on paper.

    Definitely something to consider

Zero ball skills we already have enough in the box safeties with Allen, Jarrett and Landry. Would rather have a real safety that can you know actually make a play with the ball in the air. Either Bucannon or Ward but @18 that might be too high.

Zero ball skills is way exaggeration, he is a good all around plug and play safety, covers exceptionally well, helps in the run game, and recognizes route combinations well. Saban trusted him enough to leave him alone in the deep middle plenty last year and while he might not get you 9 picks every year he won't be a liability at all. It is very easy to scheme blitzes when you have a safety that can cover like a corner it makes your scheme that much more versatile.

If you want a cover safety then keep Ed Reed and not waste a pick at 18 on a safety. We need offense and it has been neglected under Rex for far too long. We need to get in the endzone. Allen is already on the roster and not a rookie.

First round picks should be immediate plug and play impact players not need picks. If Clinton Dix or Ford are available at #18 they are better players then Lee/OBJ/Cooks.

We need to score touchdowns to win games. Expecting the defense to constantly hold the opposing offense down all the time is tiresome. No to Dix and no to Ford in fact no to any player from the state of Alabama. We have't drafted an offensive player in the first round since Sanchez and that was Rex first year. If you want a crappy season then by all mean draft Dix or Ford. By the way where does Ford play on this defense? He is a defensive end and way too slow for OLB.

Wow he's way too slow to be a 3-4 OLB? Are you serious right now or joking?

Watched some more highlights on Pryor: that guy straight up murders people out there. I like it. Still think HCD is the better of the two though.

I'm super high on Clinton-Dix, and I'm with overload in that I'd be pretty darn surprised if he's there at 18. Basically take every trait you could ever want in an outstanding FS and you have Clinton-Dix, and I don't know what NCJet is talking about because he has phenomenal ball skills. I would be happy taking Pryor too, he would be exactly the kind of safety Rex would love to have. His play vs the run and range make him sort of a FS/SS hybrid, think Eric Smith but 10x more athletic. His biggest knock is that he probably overplays the run, and he will miss some tackles until he adjusts to game speed NFL caliber RBs. I'm too lazy to give a full analysis right now lol.
