http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10827628/nfl-season-win-total-bets-all-32-teams With the schedule released, ESPN has posted a Vegas number. What say ye, TGG?
i can't bet on my teams, i'm always over confident granted i'm usually right with my confidence. when you know enough about the team you usually can make a right decision i'm taking the over
I took the over on 4 last year with this dude who thought he knew everything. Wish i could find a similar scenario this year.
The D alone is good for about 5 or 6 wins. If Geno takes a step forward and we avoid the major injuries then were easily over 7 wins. But injuries are the reason I never bet on those over/unders.
Not with the defensive backfield we currently have, we are going to need every bit of offense we can get.
I'm not exactly expecting a 10+ win season, honestly I think we'll be hard pressed to get to 8-8 but I think we should be good for 7 wins at least. I'd pick the over.
Eh our secondary last season was horrible and the D overall was still pretty dominant. Some offense would help though.
agree Don and facing the packers and lions doesn't help. though u have a point - keep building the offense to where they can put up 28 points when necessary.
Take the over! Look what Rex did last year with a pile of crap on offense. I expect the offense to be much improved with the talent added in FA along with what comes in the draft.
We won 8 games with practice squad players on offense(Geno included) so put me down for 10 wins, I'm optimistic.
Under 8 wins is Rex's job. It's got to be at least 8 for him to stay and that's cutting it close. Big step up for Geno, it's time New York Jets.
Yeah, well this year we will have practice squad players in the defensive backfield unless something changes. Add that to the fact we were terrible in pass coverage last year and things won't be looking good against all the good pass offenses in the league that we have to play this year.
Yes that could be 5 loses. After that what is your prediction for 11 other games? How bad can the Jets be vs how much better with FA and good draft is a good question.
They lost Cro on D, added Dowling and Patterson plus have the draft yet to go. I really don't see much of a drop off there considering Cro's play last year. They also played 6 games against top 10 passing teams last year and went 4-2 against them. That was without anything resembling an offense. There is certainly a lot that still needs improvement but I think 7 wins is certainly achievable and actually think they have a decent chance at 9-7 or 10-6.
