here we go. no trades, just straight mockin'. only decided to do 4 rounds for this one.

1.18 -- Odell Beckham Jr. (WR, LSU)
    - Idzik loves Beckham, as he should. OBJ is a perfect fit for MM's offense. he is an all purpose receiver. has the ability to stretch the field and burn DB's deep. a polished route runner and a successful kick returner. he also has solid hands. he is a fantastic compliment to the recently acquired Eric Decker.

    2. 49 -- Dominique Easley (DE, Florida)
    - another linemen you say? I say yes. Easley is a steal at this pick. if he didn't tear his ACL he is a top 20 pick Easley (pun intended). a relentless pass rusher who will join Sheldon and Wilkerson on the line. I get excited just thinking about it. he has the best get-off in this class, and has an incredible motor. Jets fans might not like the pick at the time but I can guarantee you Easley is a guy you will all come to appreciate.

    3. 80 -- Dontae Johnson (CB, N.C. State)
    - Johnson is a sleeper at the corner position. he's a big 6'2, 200 lb corner with 4.5 speed. a perfect replacement for Cromartie.

    4. 104 -- Dakota Dozier (G, Furman)
    - I see Dozier at a late 3rd/early 4th rd pick. huge guy, overall very strong base. stepped up huge against LSU this year, which stands out to me. has the experience as a 4 year starter. guards is a huge position of need for us.

    4. 115 -- Arthur Lynch (TE, Georgia)
    - Lynch is one of my favorite TE's in the draft. he's more of a blocking TE than a receiving one but he has the prototypical size for a TE, he will see his fair share of passes.

    4. 137 -- Dion Bailey (S, USC)
    - great value at safety for us. being picked this late, he may be a back up but our safeties aren't asked to do much. if Ed Reed sticks around he would be huge to his development.

Easley was a total beast before he tore the ACL, but I'd rather see him in the 3rd than the 2nd.

If Easley was healthy, where do you think he'd have been picked? Top 5-10? Top 20?

Beckham seems to be the favorite lately to the Jets at #18. Don't be shocked that Idzik will surprise us all....Milliner & Richardson weren't exactly on most fans radar last year.

Dontae Johnson can play Safety too, very versatile in the secondary.

No way he makes it to the third. If Easley were to stay healthy he's a top 10 pick IMO.

I like it, especially if Bailey lasts that long.

Milliner was on a few of ours I recall. Richardson though, he's another story.

So many ways we can go in the draft. Very exciting.

Easley is a DT and we have enough of them already in Snacks, Ellis and Richardson. I like the rest of the mock.

No not really!!! Milliner was projected by most to be gone by #6, so he wasn't on most Jet Fans radar. He was a surprise falling to #9. Mingo being drafted so early helped Milliner to fall. Most Jet fans were projecting Austin at #9.

Richardson was a DT in college and is a DE for us. same thing with Easley. Sheldon is also heavier than Easley. I say you can never have enough defensive linemen.

Four the second rounder I would either pick up the best CB or TE available instead of a DT/DE and then with the third grab the best OLB or whatever you didn't grab in the 2nd. Obviously it all depends on value, you don't want to draft a 4th round rated TE in the 3rd just because you haven't drafted one yet but that's why it's kind of hard to discuss mocks like this.

Other than the DE/DT in the 2nd I like it. Not really a lock of people mocking us picking a guard in the 4th but if the value is there it's definitely worth it.

Odell is a reach at 18 imo if we want a receiver and evans and watkins r gone we trade down cuz between lee cooks and odell the value is close to the same and we can get em at 27ish

One thing I like about following mock drafts from fans is learning about new players since I don't follow college ball. What I like about this mock is that it introduces me to players like Easley, Johnson, and Dozier that I probably would not have looked at otherwise. Thanks for sharing.

Regarding the draft, how do you rank OBJ, Lee, and Cooks if they are all available at 18? Based on your avatar I'm guessing OBJ is your favorite? I can respect that, although I think Lee will be the better receiver, its hard to argue against OBJ or Cooks.

I like Lynch but would prefer Fiedorowicz who I think is pretty underrated as a pass catching TE. Sure he won't be confused athletically with Gronk but he is a complete TE and should be available in the 4th.

And lastly I think Bailey would be a very good pick at the end of the 4th. He would probably have to fight Josh Bush for a roster spot, which should make for pretty good competition at camp.

    Easier said than done!!

Don't so sure one of them will be available at the end of round one, I doubt it.

Ok so I just looked up Easley and found another reason for the Jets to draft him.....his home town is Staten Island.

I'm not so sure about that. A lot of mocks have him being picked either by us or very shortly after. I've seen Cooks being picked in the 22 to 25 spot a lot so that's a possibility but it would suck to trade down and then miss out on both of them. Sure there are still some pretty solid WRs that will likely be around in the 2nd or even 3rd round (Benjamin, Matthews, Landry, etc) but will they be the same caliber of player? I'm not so sure. Plus, we already have 12 picks I don't think we should sacrifice quality of picks for quantity when we already have so many. If we had 5 picks then sure, absolutely.

Generally speaking the draft can be fairly unpredictable so who knows where guys will go. I hate when people say "there is no way XYZ will be available there" or "that's picking that guy way too early" when we have no idea what their evaluations have revealed. Plus if there is a run on WRs at some point then you tend to want to draft them before all the good ones go off the board.

I mentioned this in an earlier post, a WR (Cooks, OBJ or Lee) are not locks to be the Jet's Rd 1 pick.

Idzik is going to take the best player on his board and a player that should have been a Top 12 player will fall to #18....it always happens.

If Lee is available we have to take him. Within reason of course.

Some of these guys turn down to hang out with their loved ones and to not be in the limelight.

Joe Thomas literately went fishing and he was what? The 3rd overall pick that one draft?
