CJ2K is better than any running back on your roster. Have fun watching jets games next year.. the CJ fan deep inside of you will have you tuned in.. just like you been tuned in to a jets forum faithfully for the past week or so.
Stop feeding the troll!! Let's go over a list of things said: -CJ isn't a good football player -CJ didn't help the Titans win games -Shonn Greene is better than CJ Am I missing anything? Even if I'm not that's enough to show you he's just trolling. He's getting a rise out of you all.
While he is not on the RaiderJeaux level of trolldom it is the off season and so he needs to be afforded a little leeway. Trolls keep the forum moving during this time of year.
Would anybody else like to see CJ as the premier back? I mean, with Ivory's durability issues and the differences in the type of run styles they have I feel like CJ would be better off as the premier back and 3rd and long back, with Ivory acting as our red zone and 3rd and short back with Powell doing showing up for some dual RB formations. Just a thought.
No. Ivory rushed for near 1,000 yards last year splitting carries with Powell with almost 5 ypc. His durability issues were nonexistent this season, as the only thing he was battling was a hamstring issue, but still played in every game. I love Ivory and think he should be our premiere back.
On 1st and 2nd downs, Ivory is a better running back than Chris Johnson is at this stage when healthy. But Johnson offers speed, which at the running back position is always useful. If the Jets can find creative ways to use that speed, he'll be very successful. I think a change of scenery could be good for him and that the Jets might be able to squeeze more from him in a smaller role.
I was pretty meh on this signing (maybe some value here, but wasn't really necessary) until I just looked at some of the other RB signings other teams have made. 3 years/$10.5 million for Donald Brown, 4 years/$14 for Rashad Jennings (who is 28 y/o)? Those two signings are just painful. Not that comparing the CJ signing to some of the worst FA deals of the year should be a comfort but at least he's been a proven difference maker before, and the commitment isn't huge on our end.
All 30 of your posts …….and all of them in this thread, so if you haven't made your point by now you never will. Time to call it a day and move on amigo. www.gotitans.com/forum
Donald Brown isn't so bad. He's shown flashes and if I recall wasn't he a first round pick of the past? But that Jennings signing makes me cringe.
Bullshit. This was your very first post: "He is not a good football, let alone a good running back." that is your direct quote. then you qualify further the only reason he has ever performed well, because by your own quote he isn't good, "if you give him a big hole he can run through it for long gains." he didn't perform well in the past because he is a good RB, but because the line opened up big enough holes for him. You have also made that same argument later in this thread by claiming his 1000 yards last year aren't because he is good but because if you feed a RB the ball enough any back will get 1000 yards. you're so full of shit you can't even keep track of your own bullshit. no, it does matter what his argument is because if his argument is bullshit then that is a subject to discuss. what else are we supposed to do on a discussion board? not discuss the content that is posted? disputing his argument has zero to do with homer glasses, so spare us your holier than thou attitude about how anyone should choose to respond to a bullshit argument. we are here to discuss specific subjects and other members arguments on those topics. if a member posts a bullshit argument that a running back who has clearly had a tremendous amount of success in the league isn't good, and evidence doesn't support that, that person is going to be criticized. and criticizing that doesn't equate to being a homer.
You're right to an extent. You have every right to respond in the manner you which. I guess it's just wishful thinking to believe you could have done so with a thoughtful and calculated response. Keep telling him to eat a dick then!
don't misquote me or put words in my mouth. I never told him to eat a dick; in fact I didn't even address him until my post above in which he responded to my post with an outright lie. you would know that if you weren't busy trying to suck your own dick over how much better you are than other posters because of how you choose to respond. my post in regards to this the topic was in dispute of your bullshit post that clearly didn't understand his position on the matter. he never posted Johnson was washed up, which you brought up as a defense of him, he posted that he wasn't a good RB and detailed all the areas in which he lacked skills. I pointed out your lack of understanding of his position, which although was a brief single sentence was, in fact, thoughtful and calculated because it didn't require any longer of a dissertation to address the fact that you were confused about two entirely separate arguments -- whether a player is washed up or isn't any good. At the end of a career every great player is washed up, but they are never described as not being good a good player.
Again, I never said that Chris Johnson was never good. 2009 was a long time ago. As of right now, and the past several years, he is not and has not been a good football player. Pro Football Outsiders will back me up on that. And last year was absolutely a direct correlation to being fed the ball a ton. Any RB that gets the amount of carries that Chris Johnson got with the Titans better get 1,000 yards on a yearly basis. One thing I'll give Johnson is that he's extremely durable. He's missed time with an injury once, and that was in his most important gave ever, the 2008 playoff game against the Ravens in which he got hurt early and never returned. Ironically many accused Rex Ryan, who was the DC of Baltimore at the time, of asking his players to injure him intentionally.
