So U R like 99.9% of the members of this board totally asleep when it comes to the NYJs. When this upcoming season is said & done it will be 46 years since we last won a SB. Yes that is 46 years which hopefully you will admit means the NYJs ownership have presented us fans with a sucky product for those amount of years. Lets have a look at those last 45 years. Woody has given us 15 years of those years & the remainder have been on Leon shoulders. Lets look at what Woody has brought to the team so far

    Dumbway (Bradway)
    Tanny (dumbway #2)
Bellichick dumped Woody only a few hours after hiring
Al G dumped us after 1 year
Herm he left us in a far worse shape then when he began IMHO
Mangenius Yep he really applied his genius on us right?
RR So far 5 years of nothingless

I would say any college would give Woody a DD- if such a mark exists when it comes to a putting a true SB contender on the field. What type of mark would you apply to Woody for his 1st 15 years of ownership?

BTW I bookmarked this link to rebound to me in mid Jan 2015 for a review of what was said before season 2014 began

The pass to McCaffery could have been intercepted, if memory serves me correctly.

Woody probably get a C+ that gets curved to a B in college.

So if 15 years of nothingness earns him a B what would his mark for 20 years of nothingness or 25 years of nothingness or 30 or more years of nothingness?

Well that's not how grading works in college. If I don't get an A on the paper, then that doesn't mean I get an F. It means I get something lower than the A. Woody didn't get the A (the super bowl) but he has gotten playoffs and playoff wins and no horrific seasons so that gets him a C. Since the AFC has been dominated in his run by the Patriots, Steelers, Ravens, and Colts, he gets a curve that brings him to an B.

See this is why Woody gets the LOWEST possible mark & these are YOUR words "Since the AFC has been dominated in his run by the Patriots, Steelers, Ravens, and Colts, he gets a curve that brings him to an B". If what U posted is accurate then that is why Woody gets the the mark I stated because he & the people he hired should have gotten players that would not have allowed to happen what happen if what you post is correct. With your posts I can see you are another of the posters on this board whose head is stuck firmly in NYJ sand . Oh yes Woody #2 is waiting the wings (his son with his new wife) & you better pray that he has more brains then Woody #1 or else once Woody #1 exits stage left U will have another 50 years of losing facing U

You said what grade would Woody get in a college class? I told you how college classes work.

What you are thinking of is a pass/fail class, however these classes do not just reward A+ marks, they say anything above a set letter grade is passing with no distinction. Basically you want a pass/fail class where A+ is passing and everything else failing. This isn't a college class grading style I have come across of, so I used one I am familiar with to grade Woody.

You're line of thinking is SB or bust. A SB is success and no SB is a failure. I haven't run into a college class where it's get an A+ or you fail which is your grading criteria. So I was just telling you what Woody would get in a college class. It would be around a B.

Agreed. We haven't been cream of the crop, but look at the Lions from 2000 for something around a D or F example:
2 winning seasons, 1 playoff season, 0 playoff wins. 12 losing seasons, 0-16 season, two 2-14 seasons, finished 1st 0 times in the division, 2nd once in division.

Nope I am not thinking of a pass/fail class I am thinking of us fans not having a winner for the last 45 years (SB or bust) which means at least me as a fan flunk Woody for the last unsuccessful 15 years he has owned team. In the business world most companies would not tolerate a failure nor employ them no less for 15 years. Naturally as the owner Woody can not be fired but in the real world he would have ben gonzo some years back

Well yeah under your terms, he fails. I'm just letting you know what Woody would get in typical college class :)

See in the business world it depends on failure. What is equivalent to winning the SB in the business world? Selling the most of your product vs your competitor every year? Or making a large profit? How large of a profit?

But you are right, owners are on a different playing field. They cannot be fired, and thus we have to stick with what he have and hope they learn how to be a successful owner and put out a successful product for us fans

    6 playoff appearances
    6 playoff wins
    1 divisional title

    112-97 record

That's not bad at all. I wouldn't characterize that as "unsuccessful".

The Lions, Cardinals, Jags, Raiders, Bills, Dolphins etc have been worse during that same time span.

No no no. Don't you get it? The only questions on the test are "Did you win the Super Bowl?" If all of your answers are no, then you get a big fat ZERO

Victor Green bit on the play action. After the game Cox said about that play..Somebody tried to be a HERO..referring to Green. I was at the game. That ball was thrown into the wind and just hung in the air forever. When it came down in McCaffreys arms is was sickening. From that point on every play was a 30 yard Davis run or a Jets turnover.
