We had a pretty decent RB combo towards the end of last season. It's actually because of the improved running game that Geno started playing better. Adding CJ to the mix can only make us even better.
Absolutely true. Listening to this discussion is like going on Court TV. Why does a Titan fan turn us all into a bunch of defense lawyers asking Titan fan to look at the "the evidence" and we have been paid no retainer to go on with this BS lol.
The Titans fan is telling Jets fans that Johnson sucks and Greene is better. That proves my point lol.
I don't think the Jets spend money on hopes, I would think at least in their minds they are sure he will be a plus player to anything we have had in the recent past.
No, he isn't saying Johnson is washed up he is saying he was never any good. I'm not sure how you are confusing those two very different arguments.
Regardless of what his argument was, and whether it was flawed or not, it doesn't matter. I think you don't understand MY argument, which is that you guys looked like a bunch of children getting upset over what this anonymous poster thinks about a player we just signed to our team. Who cares if he thinks its not a good signing. Take off the homer glasses and relax.
lol @ "Chris Johnson never helped the titans win games" ... somebody is in their feelings. You can write me a 5 paragraph essay explaining that and i will still tell you that is bull shit.
He's replacing a RB charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a loaded gun and possession of hollow point round. Do you see why we feel it's an upgrade? No-one is expecting 2,000 yards.
TNTitansFan is right... Sort of. Chris Johnson has not been a good RB for them. However, as a fan who seems to have limited knowledge of his own team despite watching all of the games, he ignores the fact that Chris Johnson is not a guy who gets a lot of yard after contact, so he waits for holes to develop. Behind that joke of a titans line, there usually is nowhere to go. For a player that needs space to do damage, he never had it. When he did, he showed what he could do. He's not the player that's going to get you 4 tough yards when you need it like a lot of other guys. But he is the guy that can turn a 5 yd gain for other rbs into a 20 yd gain or more. But Johnson looks like the fool in Tennessee to these fans because he's not running straight into the backs of his linemen. Having seen a number of titans games as well, he was frustrating to watch, but I think the line and the system were mostly to blame. In our offense, I think you're going to see a a resurrected version of CJ. Downplay your expectations all you want, but I really do believe this offense is going to be very dynamic with him in there for 15 touches a game. I'm thinking 5 ypc min. All I know is we finally have a legit threat in our screen passing game,We haven't had that in a very long time.Throwing a succesfull screen pass on this team has been a rare sight over the Rex Ryan era
That's totally not true about the Titans OL. The holes are there. Johnson just tries to make his own plays and it costs him. It's amazing how much better the OL looked last year when Shonn Greene was in the game. As far as Johnson helping or not helping the Titans win games, there were times that Johnson made big plays that went a long way to the Titans winning, sure. I can count on one hand the times that it's happened since 2011. There were also times that the Titans lost games because Johnson didn't do what he was asked to do and instead tried to do things on his own. I brought up the New Orleans game example but there were several other times that Johnson was costing the Titans games. As far as the system in TN, what system do you want? They tried a version of the run n shoot in 2011 and half of 2012....he stunk. They went back to a more power oriented game in the 2nd half of 2012, and it helped a little, but not enough to justify Johnson being a feature back. They stayed with the power game for the beginning of last season and it didn't work (if you remember the game against the Jets last season when Jake Locker got hurt the Titans offense was all Locker). When Fitzpatrick after Locker got hurt took over they opened up the offense and while it helped Fitzpatrick put up bigger numbers Johnson's #'s remained pedestrian.
You seem pretty invested in convincing everyone that Johnson sucks. Pretty sad. How about you go back to the stats I posted after you claimed Shonn Greene was better than Johnson and explain how Greene is better even though the stats say otherwise. I understand that stats don't always tell the whole story but when one player has better stats in just about every category, if not all categories, then generally it can be concluded that he is the better player. Here they are again since you skipped over them the first 2 times.
I watched both guys play on the same offense behind the same offensive line. I don't need to prove anything. You will see for yourself what Chris Johnson is all about this Fall.
Lol if you don't need to prove anything why are you still here? Can we just reach the conclusion that we'll see what happens in the fall and end it there? On a random note, anyone see this article from a little over 2 years ago? http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...s-offense-could-work-with-vick-cj2k-not-tebow Funny how that all worked. Even a Decker reference in there catching a game winner.
