He excels playing the B gap, due to his tremendous athleticism and strength he can occasionally play all over the line but he's going to make his money playing the B and stunting inside/outside on passing down blitz's.

For clarity's sake, snap 1 would be the first defensive snap with Wilk in. If the second defensive snap didn't have Wilk, I omitted it, so if he came back in on the 3rd defensive snap, I considered that snap 2. Make sense?

Yes that's true, but he clearly lines up all over the line and accounts for multiple gaps at different times. He is elite at his best positions, and above average at his others. That's why I like Wilk so much.

Absolutely but you can't ask him to get 10 sacks every year from the interior It's obviously asking too much, we are eventually going to have to supplement our interior line with an outside speed rusher. Rex knows how to use his DL so he lines up Mo, Sheldon, Coples everywhere on some of his blitzes but you still need the required skill set to play a certain gap if your going to be an every down player.

I don't see why it's asking too much to get 10 sacks from the interior. It's difficult to project a stat like sacks but I think Coples for a full healthy year and Barnes speed rushing combined with the further development of the other linemen will generate lots of pass rush.

How many interior linemen in NFL history have gotten 10+ sacks multiple years(4-3 DTs, 3-4 DEs)?

JJ Watt for 1. Wilkerson represents "the new versatility" a phrase coined by Robert Mays from Grantland. He draws comparisons to Watt and to notorious interior pass rusher Richard Seymour before 2012, and has already eclipsed Symour's single season sack total in only his 3rd year. Wilkerson in Rex's schemes is going to produce a lot of pressure and sacks.

Imagine a guy like Dee Ford though on the outside in a Rex Ryan system along with Wilk and Rich, talk about some fun blitz's to watch. Good luck guessing who's dropping when 4 of then are standing up with Damon as our only down lineman.

It certainly paints a pretty picture. If we could get Ford in the second I'm all for it but not at 18. He is really really bad vs the run and would only come in on clear passing downs, at least for his first year or two. I think many people might be surprised at what Coples can do for us in terms of pass rushing this year, so I'm figuring we go more towards a 4th round OLB prospect. Just a guess though.

Jeremiah Attaochu could be an option in the 2nd round.

Sure, perhaps even a bit later. I really like Trent Murphy too, I think he's a perfect fit for our system.

He won't be available in the 2nd guaranteed, too good of a pass rusher to slip past the 1st.

He appears to be a great pass rusher. Wouldn't mind if the Jets traded back in the 1st round and picked him. So many options for this year's draft with a lot of picks.

Just want to stress to fans that if we did get Dee Ford he will be a straight up pass rusher his first year or two, he has a very tough time diagnosing the run and playing the proper lanes but the good thing is he is definitely strong enough to hold the edge(30 reps on the bench).

LOL, I hope you don't think that was a long time, I am in a restaurant and don't plan on looking at the All-22 until at least Sunday, but if you are correct, I will definitely give you your due.

I don't know, I see a lot of talent I think will go before him and push him to the top of the second. I don't see him getting past Atlanta in round two though. I mean who knows, it's really all about what guy a team falls in love with. Someone may love his motor and burst enough to snag him in the first.
