I would't be surprised if Rex put that idea or made it stronger in their heads. Seems like Rex always tries to get players to play with a chip on their shoulder
Alright well it looks like I kind of merged two separate posts you made into one in my memory so you're not completely wrong on what you said then versus now but considering you did make the two posts I wouldn't say my point about what you're saying about DeSean is completely wrong now either; somewhere in the middle instead. In one post you basically absolved Idzik of any possible big future splash by saying that you'd support any move the FO made at this point and in a later post you somewhat tempered that by saying you didn't particularly agree with interest in Jackson being that he's someone else's problem child. Still a far cry from outright condemnation of an extreme example of everything you railed against, and I think the other points I made about things you said unrelated to Jackson are valid.
Hell of a RB corps now. Should really help out Geno. Just gotta get a couple more targets for him and our offense is set.
It wasn't his twitter, it was a Tennessee reporter asking him questions posted on the reporters twitter feed.
glad to have signed CJ, brings something extra to the back field and for a reasonable price as well - glad to see the Jets didn't get sucked into overpaying or overextending the contract term
He said we have a team on the rise..... That's fine with me. I bet Rex or Idzik told him we have a date at Tenn. this year. That must have been the closing line.
Of course you can always look at that as a thinly veiled way of saying, "I'm excited for myself to not be picked up by a completely irrelevant team."
I am for all players with chips on their shoulder. Dude got his work ethic questioned.....hopefully he takes that to his locker every practice. I think he'll like Rex as a head coach. The guy isn't Santonio Holmes as far as attitude goes. He has his flaws but the move absolutely makes the team better then it is without him.
CNYJ2K ! @jwyattsports: Just got off the phone with Chris Johnson: "I have a fresh start. Now I am going to go out there with a chip on my shoulder." #Jets #Titans @jwyattsports: "I know a lot of people are doubting me,'' Chris Johnson said. "I want to prove everybody wrong who has doubts in me." #Titans #Jets @jwyattsports: C.J. on joining the #Jets: "I am very excited about that. It's a team on the rise and I want to make them better. ... I still have it.
I just want to help temper some enthusiasm here, don't take offense. Chris Johnson is famous for being about CJ2K. That's where the nickname comes from. He barely mentioned his hopes for the Titans to contend, he was mostly about making 2000 yards and breaking rushing records. The guy isn't signing and buying into the culture, he wants people to pay attention to him. And that it's fine to me, because I just want him for a year or so to run his ass off, and then go away. He's not a team player, he's a burro carrying you around a tough corner of a mountain, and when that burro shows signs of bad health, you kick it off the cliff before it does that to you. It doesn't care about you, it cares about you feeding it.
This has to be the worst fan base I have ever seen: http://www.finheaven.com/showthread.php?353752-Chris-Johnson-to-Jets/page2
I don't disagree....I just don't think he's some Terrell Owens esque player who is purely me first either. I don't think he's ever going to be some leader or some locker room great character....but hey Antonio Cromartie developed and matured under Rex and the Jets at around the age Johnson is on now. Maybe Chris Johnson becomes a decent enough locker room guy where he is not a single problem at all for anyone. He cares about his money and his playing time....but if he does his thing, that of course helps the team as a result. I don't blame him for holding out though because the shelf life of a RB is so dim where one injury can end it. Lattimore lost quite a bit of money because of this.
