I don't rule it out but the problem is it's asking for multiple unclear clauses to be met to come to fruition and in the probable event that it doesn't pan out you're completely boned at G again, don't forget that Colon is a couple of false starts or blown passing assignments away from being a heap of hot trash himself. Plus it really doesn't hurt much at all to bundle a couple mid round picks when there's such a dream scenario with comp picks to begin with so you can address depth very well anyway which is all you could reasonably expect from the two 4th's anyway. Meanwhile you might get a real quality starter with that 55th OL pick besides, and if your scenario pans out after that anyway there's nothing to stop you from getting the cap casualty OL too and maybe pushing out Colon too in the process which would be a dream scenario also.
So basically you are more concerned with what "Idzik fans" thought about the deal than what you actually think about the deal. Don, didn't I see you lie about posting mostly positive stuff on the forum last week? Did you give up that ruse so quickly?
i doubt he gets that kind of production, just due to splitting time with Ivory. but both should see somewhere close to 1k yards.
Rich Cimini @RichCimini 2m Johnson, speaking to team site, says he talked w/ Ryan, Mornhinweg about "catching out of the backfield, getting the ball to me in space." Perrrrfect.
Maybe a combination of both would provide a solution, or at worst, competition at both positions, depending on how things fall. It's hard for me to argue either one when the early portion of the draft hasn't happened, but I think they are both feasible hypotheses. OG on both sides is a glaring weakness.
This is a real solid signing for us. He gives us legit big time speed at a spot where we really need it.
Jim Wyatt @jwyattsports 19m Just got off the phone with Chris Johnson: "I have a fresh start. Now I am going to go out there with a chip on my shoulder." #Jets #Titans Jim Wyatt @jwyattsports 18m "I know a lot of people are doubting me,'' Chris Johnson said. "I want to prove everybody wrong who has doubts in me." #Titans #Jets Jim Wyatt @jwyattsports 17m C.J. on joining the #Jets: "I am very excited about that. It's a team on the rise and I want to make them better. ... I still have it."
Haven't read a lot of the posts in this thread but I'm going to go ahead and assume most people are happy about this. If you aren't: you're dumb. There is literally no downside to this, especially on a two year deal. Money is good, even if it wasn't we have piles of cap space and, again, it's only a two year deal. Best case scenario is he's still got game-breaking speed, can catch out of the backfield a lot and run in some TDs. Worst case scenario is he's not what he was or he gets injured in which case we stick with Ivory and Powell which worked pretty well for us last year when we didn't have Goodson at all.
And here we go fans - my dream scenario Game tied against NE - 1st and goal for the Jets from the ninth yard line Geno rolls under center Vick splits wide with Decker, Cumberland and Ebron/Cook or Beckam The transformers in the backfield (CJ and Ivory) -My new nickname for them Mass confusion on the Defense - NE burns last time out And away we go What's there not to love
Decker said something similar about proving people wrong. I'm so pissed they moved the draft back. It'd be coming up soon. Can't wait to see this roster in it's entirety.
