except nobody has ever made such a claim in defense of Idzik. Find one post where anyone was opposed to spending money. it doesn't exist. what exists is the defense of the strategy not to simply sign whatever free agent is available simply because the cap space exists to do so.

I must say, this has been the most exciting off season in a long time. Now if we can draft an explosive receiver in this draft, we are set. Speed kills!

Yup expect to see more single back looks with 2 TE or 3 WR. if I recall, CJ operated a lot without a FB, right?

I'm hoping the Jets will make an effort to replace Winters or at least provide competition. The guy was a festering sore last season.

if Chirs Ivory + Johnson can both accumulate 2000 yards, I would be really impressed

Idzik nabbed the top QB, WR and RB in free agency. All while not overspending. Add a top defense, 12 draft picks, and a ton of money to carry over into future years, the Jets are building a solid foundation for years of success. This year will be a lot of fun to watch, but the year after, look for the Jets at the top of the AFC.

In his defense, he was a rookie. You can't expect a guy taken that late in the draft to come in and dominate. He will learn. Hopefully lol

I definitely wouldn't mind seeing AT LEAST the 3rd or one of the 4ths spent on o-line. Hopefully with a full offseason, OTAs, camp etc Winters will make the leap but competition at both guard spots is a must.

I never have a problem admitting when I'm wrong. Some people on here act like they will die if there wrong.

HEH! Beat me to it. This is a great signing before we even know how much he is getting paid???

I have said before that the Jets will be improved with Johnson, even if not by all that much, and so I wanted this to happen, and congratulate the FO and Idzik for getting it done. It really does make me feel better about them.

I still think they misplayed the cornerback situation, and may have to remedy that going first or second round pick in the draft at Cb. And they still need a starting wideout and attention to the OL, and htat does not even get to TE, safety and edge rusher.

But... today is a good day.

We still need a burner at WR to stretch the field and keep away from 8 man fronts

Opinion is one thing. But can you please put an end to derailing every thread with the same nonsense? Enough is enough.

Yeah, that's why I mentioned competition. If he was a three year player, I would want him executed at the 50 during halftime.
