#Jets and RB Chris Johnson are negotiating a deal right now, as there is no deal in place at this moment, but there could be soon Via Max Wildstein Not sure how legit he is but throwing it out there
Orton is one of the worst QBs in the league, he has nothing to do with the Jets. can we please stop discussing him? some folks are just way too impressed w/ meaningless #s.
damn bro i was 16 in 07.. and i already feel the way you feel about Jets media. lol. Always out to make bad shit worse and brain wash other people into believing were worse than we really are.
he is a 16 year old kid I do expect he will be signed before long but I'm not sure Max is the best connected source. Shouldn't he be in school?
what does that have to do w/ Orton? mark has those 4 road playoff wins, he played at a high level in big games. he has a track record, Orton's track record is putting up meaningless #s throwing to really good weapons.
I'm skeptical. I don't think we're going to see a deal unless the basic terms were already in place and they're just haggling through a few minor details. I don't think the Jets are going to pay anything like what the common notion is of CJ's value. I think if it's a multi-year deal it's probably $3.5M a year tops and with less than half guaranteed. It just doesn't seem like John Idzik is likely to bid against a blank market and so far that's what we're seeing out there.
You said People read to much into meaningless #'s ,well how about Sanchez and his meaningless "playoff wins",it has nothing to do with Orton it has to do with the meaningless numbers part.Your a Sanchez fan and he is the king of meaningless numbers
I don't think he would be here if a basic deal wasn't already in place. Remember the Jets were really close with him when a trade was still on the table.
I don't think there was ever a trade on the table. I think that's more media BS. I don't believe anything I see out of the media at this point unless it has a Jets official attached to it, and even then it's going to be spun in a way to make the Jets look bad.
how is a playoff win meaningless? that is what we watch for, we want our team to win playoff games and get to SBs. I couldn't care less if my QB is putting up great #s and losing, this game is about winning. Mark had one losing season in 4 years in a year he had the worst talent in the league around him. Kyle Orton has done nothing in this league w/ as much or more talent than mark ever had around him. stop talking about nonsense and discuss the topic please.
I dont know how much I like Bilal Powell to be honest. He's never been much a receiving threat and he isnt a better runner then Ivory or Johnson are. I think if Idzik thinks Goodson is the more talented player then he should keep him and say adios to Powell. Unless of course he thinks Goodson's off the field issues are to big of a concern.
lets try to keep this about the prospect of CJ signing with the jets, not any other dumb beaten horse topic. Now that this has REAL legs I want to try to make a projection: 3 years 13 million, 6 million guaranteed, with an average annual cap hit of just over 3 million, and a signing bonus included in that total to sweeten the deal. In fact I'll be shocked if there isn't a sizable one included, which is why I give such a high number. really his cap hit in my scenario should look something like: 4 million 3 million 3 million His annual cap hit should be moderately larger than that of Ivory or Goodson's. As much as many view him as a player on decline, he's STILL never had a season beneath 1k yards, has never been an injury risk and has a GREAT 6 year resume following him, he deserves more than the 2 million on average those two make.
Powell is a solid back who keeps getting better, Goodson is the odd man out b/c his role will be taken up by Johnson. Goodson was brought here to catch passes out of the backfield.
