1.18: Marquise Lee, WR, USC Various mocks have Lee going anywhere from early teens to late 20's, which is a pretty wide spread. For me it comes down to Lee vs Cooks, and although Cooks is faster I think Lee looks more fluid in his routes and catching the ball and that makes him more likely (imo) to contribute right away. 2.17: Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, UW Would probably be drafted higher if not for the stress fracture/surgery on his foot. He has the size at 6'6" 260lbs and is a complete TE. Along with Lee should be an immediate contributor. 3.16: Trent Murphy, OLB, Stanford This is my replacement for Pace at the SAM OLB. Has long arms, huge hands, and deceptive athleticism (6.8s 3-cone). He also led NCAA in sacks last year with 15. 4.4 (TB): E.J. Gaines, DB, Mizzou A 3 year starter with lots of experience playing man and press. He held Mike Evans to 4 catches for 8 yards last year even though he was giving up 7". Plays tough and is a good blitzer as well. 4.15: Brandon Thomas, G/T, Clemson Unfortunately for Thomas he tore his ACL in a pre-draft workout so he will be out for the year. He also drops from a projected Round 2 selection to (hopefully) our Round 4 selection. He will take over for Colon next year after a year of rehab. 4.37 (COMP): Jordan Tripp, OLB, Montana He will move to ILB and add speed alongside DD in the future. He is a very instinctive player with a lot of athleticism. 5.14: Walt Aikens, DB, Liberty A developmental corner with good size and decent athleticism who plays good press man coverage. 6.19: Michael Campanaro, WR, WF Good route runner with natural hands. Has the Idzik connection. 6.33 (COMP): Shaquille Barrett, LB, Colorado St 4 year starter who could compete for a spot. 6.34 (COMP): Tre Boston, S, UNC Former CB who is very physical but not too fast. 6.37 (COMP): Cornelius Lucas, OT, Kansas St Big mountain of a man at 6'8" who plays with a mean streak. Needs to work on technique but has potential. 7.18: Colt Lyerla, TE, Oregon Physical talent is there but not much between the ears. Worth a shot in the 7th. This looks good.. The only problem with Lee is we don't know how he is going to hold up in the NFL.. If he is 100% healthy and can play to that 2012 level, then by all means lets take Lee... If there are any questions about his durability, you gotta take Cooks... Imagine would Marty would cook up having a speedster like Cooks at his disposal.... The possibilities.
You're missing one comp pick in Rd 6...we have 12 picks. I have no problem with Lee, he has the highest ceiling of the trio of WRs (Lee, Cooks & OBJ) in mid rd 1. At the point any of the these 3 Wrs is fine with me. I'm still slightly more of a Cook's fan, but people are dissing on Lee too much. ASJ would be an excellent choice, it's 50/50 he will be available at #49 I might want to go corner in rd 2 or rd 3. I'm a big Jason Verrett fan and if he fell to #49 I'd grab him in a heartbeat. Verrett has rd 1 talent, but his size may drop him into rd 2. Verrett is another Aaron Glenn, smaller in size but a dynamic player in coverage and press. Rd 3 I like Phillip Gaines from Rice he has a huge upside. I don't think Tripp will last into late Rd 4. I've been a big Mike Camp fan for some time, he has a good shot of wearing the Green & White. I might want some more immediate o-Line help. I understand your reasoning with Coleman.

This draft would mean both Campbell and Obushi are still high among the Jets. As for this draft.....I like it but I want safety help sooner. I am in the minority here but I want a FS early as in round 3(I have no problem with Pryor though or if we trade down in round 1 and get J. Ward) and I want a SS somewhere on Day 3. I am not comfortable with Jarrett as Allen's backup. Boston who should not be around by round 6 is a good pick but I don't want to wait on a safety by round 6 when I feel it is easily among our top 5 most pressing needs.
really like the jordan tripp pick just out of curiousity are you assuming OBJ isn't at our pick at 18? he's still my favorite WR out of the 3 we can possibly take
I like OBJ just not as much as Lee or Cooks. Would be happy with any of those 3 in my order of preference: Lee, Cooks, OBJ
You look at a young Aaron Glenn, and I see Verrett, similar in ability and size. Teams favor the Bigger CBs in this era of the NFL. Verrett has solid 1st rd talent.
overall good job. I absolutely love the ASJ pick in round 2. don't like Lee at all, and hope the Jets don't take him, but that's just me. would've liked to see more emphasis on the Oline. We can use a potential starter this season. That to me is as important as grabbing a WR or TE, maybe even moreso.
Jason Verrett holds like crazy. He's going to get flagged a lot until he can get adjusted to the NFL rules.
If he's still around at 38-44 I'd seriously consider a trade up. As much as people love Lee,Cooks, and OBJ I would love Dee Ford in the first and Verrett in the 2nd.
That's overexgerrating it a bit though Dennard does(And probably will) cool off on how aggressive he is year 1 since rookies don't get the flags. Revis has made a living off playing the same aggressive, verging on penalty drawing style for a while now.....
We can agree to disagree. Dennard needs to tone it down, if he does, he will be extremely successful. These CBs need proper coaching once they're in the NFL to help some of their flaws.
