Wait... I thought Rex is a shitty coach because he doesn't get involved with offense?

Get CJ at a good price, with incentives, and I'm definitely in.

They already signed McFadden back and Drew-Jones..people fail to realize that 20 teams have signed new backs this year already..if we wanted Johnson it would be no problem to get him.

The question is what will it take to get him. He had an 8 mil per season contract with the Titans. So you can be pretty certain it won't be anything close to that. Probably in the 4-5 area with maybe two years and 7 to 8 guaranteed. Would Idzik go for that. I think the answer is yes. Rumors were the Jets were the team inquiring the most about a trade with the Titans. The possible stumbling block was the salary. CJ wasn't willing to take a pay cut. But now he has no choice. He isn't going to get that kind of money. My guess. He signs with the 49ers.

Jets have taken a methodical approach in free agency. I'm told GM John Idzik has not reached out to Chris Johnson's camp since release #nyj

When a report has us interested in someone, the truth is probably that where really not.

So when it says the jets are interested and will act quickly I kinda expect us to not be interested and not act at all.

Not really a bad thing, Idzik will probably address RB in the DRAFT<-. Makes the most sense and fits his philosophy.

Some of you are acting like its impossible for the media to know anything. The reports of the Jets being the closet to trading for CJ isn't coming from anyone Jets related, it was coming from a Tennessee source. So yes, the Jets do have considerable interest in CJ and it wouldn't be shocking if we made an effort to sign him.

Manish is such a fuckin moron with these sources. Jesus. Does it ever stop?

I can't image we were deeply in talks with Tennessee for a trade and now that he is a free agent, we don't reach out to him. No way I believe that. This would mean we were willing to give up a draft pick for him, but now that we don't have to give up anything, we are no longer interested? Lol

noticed it said "since his release" so in the 18 hours or so that he has been a f.a. idzic and the agents have not talked. no big deal but a nice little troll remark by manish to get the fan base riled up

Johnson has NOT been released yet ... he was informed he would be released, but he is still a member of the Titans. If the Jets were to contact Johnson now it would be tampering. Manish has no idea WTF he is talking about as ussual.
