    i wouldn't say that

CJ2k is the better overall player. darren sproles isn't a threat in the run game anymore and johnson is faster. if sproles wasn't on the decline, why would he of started losing touches last season to pierre thomas and ingram?

I don't expect better from Chris Johnson next year than last year because his last 3 years have been essentially identical, although last year was the least of them.

He's not the guy who rushed for 2,000 yards any more.

He's like most 28 year old running backs who have 1,700+ carries. He has maybe one decent season left.

I would definitely say that. And you're basing Johnson being better on what? Two completely different players and Sproles is the better player as of today. Maybe Sproles lost touches because the Saints have one of the most prolific offense in the NFL and they spread the ball around.

Oh and why did the Titans just release Johnson and get nothing in return? Yet Sproles garnered a draft pick in return. Hmm I wonder why. You're not watching their most recent games if you think CJ is the better player at this point, that's inaccurate.

Is that a "feeling" he'll be signed by Monday evening? Or you know he will sign as quick as DeSean did? You are a joke. Please don't reply to this as it was only rhetorical.

because no one wanted to trade for the contract. why did no one trade for d-jax?

my friends a huge titans fan and i've watched a bunch of their games. cj2k is a good RB, he just gets hit behind the LOS literally every play

Yeah u maybe right but CJ is the only weapon the Titans had so teams game plan for him. You couldn't do that with the Saints and all there weapons.

Because D-Jax actually had "off the field" concerns, whether true or perceived, which pushed some of his potential suitors away. That's never been an issue or question for CJ so that tells you a lot about his potential market. He hasn't been the same back in a few years. If the Jets sign him, it's a decent signing and nothing more.

    And to reinforce that...

    Paul Kuharsky ‏@PaulKuharskyNFL 1h
    Per @ESPNStatsInfo: CJ runs vs. loaded boxes year-by-year: 59, 68, 51, 36, 46, 44. That's 44 of 279 in 2013 -- 16%.#Titans

Lol if you call someone a joke they are more than likely going to respond. It is not a "feeling," it is an educated guess based on the rate at which significant free agents are signed. Just look at how quickly late cap-cut free agents were signed both this year and years past, or at least the ones who were expected to be significant contributors anyway. I'm not pulling that out of thin air.

his "off the field" concerns were bullcrap, there were multiple teams (6 teams according to schefter) that contacted his agent once he was cut

i don't think chris johnson would be a huge splash, but he's a much better player than people are giving him credit for

He's a big splash..he had a down year and ran for "only" 1100 yards last year while playing with a partially torn MCL for the last 13 games behind one of the biggest turnstile OLs in the league..believe me he is a big splash for the Jets.

Assuming this is all true, I am incorrect. I do genuinely believe that certain stories are leaked by teams who want to give the appearance that roster moves are not about money, but I certainly have no way of knowing if this is such a case. Regardless, if this is true I have to imagine all the people calling for Idzik to sign Jackson are now very glad we didn't.

Please keep this topic on Chris Johnson.

Don't bring in an article that is full of lies by the Eagles organization to cover their ass to free up cap space by releasing a great WR who is now a Redskin.

I Think its safe to say alot of people here dont really follow Chris Johnson anymore. Sproles was N E V E R better than CJ. CJ can do everything Sproles does he just isnt used that way. Sproles is good, always been good but CJ is even better and was at one point unstoppable. Sproles best year BY FAR he accumulated about 1350 yards in 2011 rushing and passing. CJ does that just about every year even on his underrated down years, AND he's younger, AND he's available and Sproles isnt. Whats the debate about really? lol

We need to get Chris Johnson. Then draft Beckham or Cooks in the first. Our offense would be something to see.
