What I think is that Rex likes the two SS look combined with two capable press coverage CBs. In Baltimore he never had two guys like that, but he had Ed Reed. You scheme with what you have, and I think Rex likes the two SS look with two cover corners the best because of the numbers advantage it gives him. Not having to put a FS over the top means you have one more guy in the box. Rex's scheme is very adjustable, so I'm not worried about not signing this guy or that guy because I think Rex can scheme for whatever he has.

Rex is definitely more pragmatic than he's given credit for, but the team could still use somebody who can play the position Free at an effective level.

After all having options to choose from based on the offense at hand is better than just trying your best to make due with what you have. Bush is the teams best bet for now as a prospect... like to have another regardless.

All im saying is everyone is talking up this guy from one pick 6. He has much more to prove in order to secure a starting spot going into the draft.

No one is talking up Allen from only 1 pick 6. He also had a number of extremely athletic moves to defense passes. He has also shown a lot of improvement considering he completely learned a new position. Transition to the pros is hard enough for most guys, without having to swap positions. One of the keys to Idzik's plan is competition, and Allen hasn't secured a starting spot. People can like what they see in a guy without saying he's our future starter for the next 5 years. You're the one assuming that because we like a player we think he's going to be a difference maker in 2014.

the Jets plan to draft Benjamin, then tank this season for Jameis Winston next year. only logical explanation I could come up with.

Totally agree. He's S.Hill, without the speed.

From what I heard he had a bad combine, so hopefully that opened up some people's eyeys on him as an elite talent.

Maybe they consider him an option in the second or third rounds in case he falls. It wouldn't be the first time draft websites were totally wrong about the round a player is drafted.

I assumed you were talking about the secondary as you replied to a post in which I was. If you are talking about the overall record then there are 1000 people on this board that will tell you 8-8 was an abberation.

Our D was better last year despite the secondary not being as good. By the #s we got worse but watch the games, in 2012 teams were so conservative against us knowing the only way they could lose was if they turned it over. The emergence of the DL made our D much better in 2013.

with Buffalo trading for Mike Williams, alot of people are speculating Stevie Johnson may be cut after the draft if they get a WR in the first.

Wouldn't be until after the draft but Stevie has alot of talent, you think we will be situated at WR by the time he is released IF HE is released at all?

Just pre-draft talk.. We will be "interested" in Johnny Manziel in the next few weeks also... They just need shit to write about.. I wouldn't worry.

if he is, i would kick the tires. he doesnt have the greatest injury history tho, so the price has to be right.

Many of our secondary problems were because rex loves cover 0 and refused to accept Cro couldn't handle it while nursing the hip/knee injuries.

When was Mike Williams on the market!? We have 12 picks and this guy is a pretty damn good, young, wideout. Why didnt we take advantage?

This is the first I even heard that MW was even on the trading block.

I love that mike Williams just went to the bills. I love that Tate went to the lions. I love that Steve smith went to the ravens. If Watkins now drops to tampa at 7 i think mike Evans or ebron will drop down to us . Giants will take one of the two most likely .

    CJ is officially released.

    Titans released RB Chris Johnson.

The move has been in the works for weeks, if not months, now. With Johnson's release, the Titans save $6 million versus the salary cap and eat a $4 million dead money hit. Johnson isn't the same player as the one that rushed for 2,006 yards in 2009 and earned him the moniker CJ2K, but he still has excellent speed and hasn't missed a game since his rookie season. There's no chance he'll find the $8 million salary he was scheduled to earn on the open market, but Johnson is easily the best back to hit free agency this offseason. He won't be a true No. 1 like he was in Tennessee, either. Johnson is merely a complementary piece to a backfield. Look for the Jets and Cowboys to show interest. The Patriots and Rams could also be in the mix.
