Tailgating a tradition? LOL It`s the only fucking thing to do in the Meadowlands. Like someone else said, I too grill, BBQ and smoke foods year round. I don`t need a football game to do it. It`s actually a fucking hassle to load up all that shit just to, like someone else said, burn some friggin wings. Most of the food being grilled at games smells like shit anyway. Thats why tailgating for me and my old crew(which is no longer thanks to the shithole none of us want to be a part of), was quite expensive. Smokers, deep fryers, and any other types of cooking methods were not cheap, nor was the food we made. At least our stuff was good stuff. I`ve seen some nastyass shit at Jets games and I laughed. If tailgating is all some of you cared about, glad you got what you wanted. Not for me and not for thousands of other Jets fans who said fuck it. Tailgating is NOT just about grilling stuff either. It was a either It`s a nice get together for a bunch of folks. THAT, can certainly be done in a pub ANYWHERE. And it would`ve been much more comfortable and as I said before, not more expensive, especially if you add in all the time and fuss preparing a tailgate party. Keep the new shithole. I`m done with attending Jets games. Bunch of newbies there anyway. Even Fireman Ed said fuck it. Do your own cheers from now on. And no one does it either. Lameass fans now.
My bad, I totally forgot about the Americans. I stand corrected. This actually makes their move -back- to NY even more humorous. So they've done two stints in NJ and two in NY. I wonder where they'll go next?
Only if the New York Jets ceased to exist... Despite only visiting NY twice (third this year if the fixtures work out), being NY is part of it, the name Jets, the colour green is all part of it, too. If the franchise moves and becomes the LA Freeways (or something) then they cease to exist in my eyes...no idea what I'd do then.
Damn, I meant to mention that and blanked; thanks! I also blanked on the NJ Americans/Nets thing. Once upon a time I knew that but it totally slipped my mind.
If they stop representing the NY/NJ area I will stop being a fan. Short of that, not much would make me stop being a fan.
THIS! Jet fan-droid since late '67, it hurt bad when they moved from Flushing to Jersey but at least the organization saw fit to retain their identity of being the NEW YORK JETS. Bad enuff I had to accept the move to Jersey but any other re-location (along with a name change) & I'd also be DONE just as my beloved pop's was when the Dodgers left for the West.
Jeez, over 20 years with the team. What would make me Abandon them? Leave the location: Well I don't really live in NY. Probably change the team colors and logos. It was why I picked the team in the first place and secondly, because I hated always having to choose stuff from Seattle.
The Jets as a team would have to steal my first born and groom him to be the Patriots heir-apparent to Brady... Or leave town and change the name of the team.
Can we protest against this thread? All the Real Jets til death fans. Patriots fans are probably spygating this shit just smiling.
you cut the legs off the grill or use a step stool? this is a correct post, that stadium would have been so many more things than a football stadium. it would have been a complete fucking cash cow. there is no way in hell that anyone of normal stature could afford season tickets and the game day experience would have been rough, BUT it sucks in the mausoleum anyway. oh well, 22 or so more years till its time to try something new again.
That is hurtful. I thought this place was going to become more civil. Whatever happened to the nest in a tree of trust and understanding? _
I would never give up on the Jets, ever ...period, end of story. Now, ask me about giving up on some of the so called Jet fans that all they do is shit on them at every turn and buy into the NY media BS, complaining about everything and anything, continuously bitching that nothing anyone does with the Jets from the owner on down the line is right, well you might get a totally different answer. They have a way to go, but I truly believe they are going down the right path...patiently, methodically and without mortgaging the future for a quick fix.
Simple question to all Jet fans; If Woody relocated the franchise to, let's sayyyyy - Bismark, North Dakota (I know it's a stretch) - & renamed them the "Bismark BizMarkies" or the "North Dakota RoughRiders" (or something else similarly as corny), would you still be a fan? Just curious.......!
