I read your WR write ups you posted a few pages back. Thanks for the info, great read.

I have to agree with the Benjamin assesment, I think he is way over-hyped. People forget he has the best college QB throwing him the ball to inflate his stats. I don't even think he was the best WR on his team last year, Rashad Greene was better.

The kid defiantly doesn't lack confidence. I have to agree with him tho, he does have extremely similar measurables to D Jax. I just think Cooks is a lot tougher.

Yeah his frame and build seems bigger than DeSean's, only difference is Djax has proved it in the NFL and Cooks hasn't yet...

Jets have scheduled pre-draft visit w/ WR Brandin Cooks: source. Mel Kiper said today Cooks + Odell Beckham Jr would be fits for Jets at 18.

Lets throw Lee into the mix. If all 3 are available, who do you take? I'm personally having tough time deciding between them.

Lee - Injuries and QB play hurt his stats, but he was crazy good with Barkley throwing him the ball, He's bigger than Cooks but slightly smaller than OBJ

Cooks - was the most productive WR in college last year, but his smallish frame makes me just a little weary.

OBJ - Skills similar to both Lee and Cooks, but with a bigger frame. Far less production than the other 2 in college.

Either would be great. I'm a big fan of both players, especially Cooks. That's great news for Cooks, since Marty worked him out privately in Oregon. Idzik wants to kick the tires.

It's still early, both players stock may rise before the draft. Cooks isn't getting past Philly, they're in love with the Kid.

IMO, if the draft was today, I don't think Cooks and OBJ will be the BPA on Idzik's board....but things will change in 5 weeks.

Cooks no question. Cooks is a tough physical player for his size, tougher than D-Jax.

Think of a young Santana Moss, dynamic and physical.

Philly better pray, the Steelers or us don't take Cooks.

That said, I don't think the Jets strictly go BPA, they are going to splash some need in that equation (just a touch of need). At the end of the day, those 2 wideouts will be VERY high on the Jets draft board, especially if they are looking for high character guys.

Lee has started to fall, at least here.

Philly will jump over us if they think we are taking Cooks..it's only 4 spots.

I don't know if the Eagles will look to trade more picks after getting Darren Sproles for a 5th rounder. I know it's only 4 spots, but they are going to put themselves at a disadvantage if they decide to trade up. They need defensive help too.

This could happen though. If Cooks is gone Lee hopefully will still be there.

I don't think the Steelers will take Cooks.

Idzik's draft board will be based on BPA. Cooks & Beckham might be the BPA in 5 weeks, like I said I don't think, right now, we are there yet....it's close.

I'm basing what Idzik did last year, he took the two best players at #9 & # 13.

Based off of a few 2014 mock drafts made last year, Lee was considered the best WR in this draft, ahead of Evans and Watkins. If his down year can be attributed to shotty QB play he might be a little undervalued right now.

You can use that same argument about a lot of players in a lot of sports. However you can't just forget about a player's most recent season, shoddy QB play or not, when evaluating him and judging him for the next level.

They definitely need a wide-out. Todd Haley's offense is all about short passes and receivers that get YAC, all they have is Brown, Sanders is gone, Cotchery is gone. I've seen mocks with them getting players like Lee or Cooks. Granted Steelers need help in a bunch of areas, but infusion of depth and talent at that position could help.

I guess depends how the draft goes, but I wouldn't rule it out.

They did draft Cooks' College teammate last year in Marcus Wheaton. I've heard they plan on using him as their #2 this year.

Steelers are very high on Wheaton. Haven't seen enough of him to say if he's legit or not but they seem to think he is.
