I agree with you, but in his defense, he did have Mark Sanchez throwing him the ball with no other weapons around him lol
Bring him in on a short term deal. I don't understand what the problem with that would be. He's a very good receiver that would take our receiving corps up to the top 15 or so in the league. They haven't been anywhere near that lately. It's a passing league and the jets have $$ to burn. Also, wrt th qb, if Geno can't succeed with Jackson, Decker and Kerley as starting receivers he would need to hit the road.
There were a million problems on the 2011 season, him being one of them. That one winning season he contributed to was the closest we have been to a SB since January of 1969.
Fact is rumors be damned if he signs with us it's because Marty has endorsed him enough and Idzik feels like he won't be a problem which if that is all true than I would love the signing. Flip side if we don't even bother looking at him then its obvious he is more trouble than he is worth in the eyes of the FO which if that is the case than I would love the non signing. -Capt. Obvious
that is different than what I am saying. Clearly w/ what he gave us after signing the new deal he wasn't worth it but that doesn't take away how huge he was for us in 2010.
Ed Werder @Edwerderespn 5m Re: @DeseanJackson10: We know Skins interested; expect Panthers, Raiders and Jets involvement. Have been told Saints, Packers, Pats are out
I don't understand, all the major media outlets have the Jets in the hunt for Jackson but there has been absolutely zero interest from the Jets since he hit the open market.
great, and you can certainly claim that you got more emotional satisfaction from the positives of what he provided in 2010 than emotional dissatisfaction from the negatives in 2011 and bad play afterwards. But to claim he did more good than bad is false, that's a claim of quantity. he was as bad last year as he was good in 2010. He was more of a disruption to the offense in 2011 than he was a meaningful playmaker. 2012 was a wash.
how do you know? you are on the phone with Idzik and he is telling you there is no interest from the Jets?
I don't know if Idzik is a great GM a terrible GM or anywhere in between but one thing that I've noticed since he arrived is that the media, for the most part, doesn't have a fucking clue what the Jets are doing or not doing.
i literally haven't believed a single report until it's officially reported idzik runs a tight ship, that's apparent. we're a NY based team, the media needs something so it seems like half these reports are absolute bullshit why would any individual have interest to trade for someone and then once he's cut have no interest? any person with a decent enough intelligence could realize the media has nothing
NFL: AroundTheLeague @NFL_ATL 43m D-Jax tracker: Jets reportedly out of the mix "unless they pull a 180." Mystery teams now joining the hunt? http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000337953/article/desean-jackson-on-redskins-raiders-bills-radar?campaign=Twitter_atl…
that is an explanation for his performance, it doesn't wipe the performance away. you made an argument of quantity of situations that can deemed "doing more good" versus quantity of situations that can be deemed "not doing good." clearly there are more situations to the latter than the former. he didn't do more good than not, simply the 1 season he was good was more exciting than the other 3 seasons he did not.
