In 10 postseason games Starr threw a grand total of 3 INTs, Favre once threw 6 INTs in ONE game.

Favre played during an era where passing became the norm and not the exception. And the Packers were stacked so let's not pretend that Favre was a victim of parity

Johnny Unitas and Peyton is the closest one for me but Johnny was the man and possibly Peyton's best single year didn't happen as a Colt.

moons receivers tended to get alligator arms against tough defenses. the run and shoot also didnt really lend itself to the playoffs at that point in time. warren moon was a great qb, he made all the throws and i think is right there neck and neck with mcnair who i also liked alot.

So is this going by the QB body of work they had playing with other teams then? I figured it would be what the QB did with that team and Doug Williams really didn't play all that much for Tampa

If that's the case then Favre is probably the best QB in Falcons history

I'm not buying that, it wasn't all Warren's fault but he had excellent talent to work with and always came up small in big spots. Great #s guy, not a great QB.

Williams was their starter for 5 years, made the playoffs 3 of them including a title game. From 1976-1996 TB made the playoffs 3 times, the 3 times in 5 years w/ Williams.

Dilfer was QB there for 5 years and is a worthy choice, Vinny was also there for 5 years but he was awful in TB.

No QB has started more than 5 years for TB so the Favre comparison is not valid.

Agree with all of these. Only ones maybe go differently would be Boomer for the Bengals and Wilson or Hasselbeck for the Seahawks.

This might ruffle some feathers but Chad Pennington>Joe Namath.

If he would have stayed healthy, no doubt he would have been better... Namath was very overrated.. Threw a lot of Interceptions... ALOT

I can see his line of thinking, Chad was healthy for 3 years here and we made 3 postseasons and won a div title but much like Joe he wasn't durable and he didn't win a SB but it's not as crazy a comparison as it seems on the surface.

I probably should have rephrased it.. Namath is better than Pennington based on his accomplishments... If Pennington could have stayed healthy he would probably still be here and no doubt we would have won the Super Bowl in 09/10.

If Joe could have stayed healthy he would have been an all time great. it's our curse that these guys weren't durable.

I disagree w/ winning the SB in 2009 and/or 2010. the QB play was fine, the best postseason play we probably ever got consistently out of a QB in Jets history. we didn't lose b/c of the QB but if Chad had stayed in 2008 we would have won the division and had a great shot at the SB.

That's a different era. A lot of AFL QB's threw more picks than TD's.

that doesn't excuses his dreadful ratio. he should have been somewhere near 1 to 1 ratio.
