Goodson is obviously expendable but it is more of a question of what happens to Ivory. Last season Ivory had approx 100 fewer carries and only approx 240 fewer yards. His YPC was 4.6 so, yeah, you do the math.
I don't think it's a question of what will happen to Ivory at all. I think he established himself last year as the clear cut #1 between he and Powell. The question is what happens to Powell and/or Goodson. If I had to choose to pick one guy out of the CJ2K, Powell and Goodson pool that will be splitting carries with Ivory all season, I'm going with Johnson hands down, no questions asked. The problem is, is that a role Johnson is willing to accept? He's never been the quietest guy in the huddle...
If Marty would get his head out of his ass and realize what he has in Ivory, he would be a Top 5 back in this league... Guy just gets better and better as the game goes on, but only gets like 10 carries tops... Da Fuck??
Well that is also because he came in with a nagging hamstring issue that the FO knew about when they traded for him. Let's see if he can stay healthy with an entire healthy offseason this year.
He may have played in 15 games, that doesn't, mean he was healthy in them. He had nagging injuries in at least 3 of those games. It was very obvious too.
Playing in 15 games and starting are two different things. He was limited because of his hamstring. It started to nag him again later in the year as well.
one thing has been obvious this offseason, they are trying to upgrade the RBs. Do they trust Ivory to stay healthy? or do they just want to get rid of Goodson?

But if he comes in somebody has to go... I would rather have 3 young guys that will be here for the next 5+ years then bring in a guy who has 1-2 years left in the tank... Tops.
But who is to say a guy like Goodson will produce for 5+ years? We took a chance on him really. He is a total unknown and after one year with us, he still is.
This is true... If Goodson gets off this gun charge case then I think we should stick with him... In the game against the Falcons, he showed his big play ability on his first carry. Just seems like CJ2K would be a luxury at this point and not a need... Save that few million and do something else with it.

Hey I agree, I like the prospect of Goodson and how he fits in with this style of offense and the pieces already in place. All I'm saying is I'm gonna go with the established guy 9 times out of 10.
I'm not worried about New England at all. If this back fires they are already dealing with Aaron Hernandez. I'm pretty sure you can leave New England off the list
